Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Looks like I might have to get round to checking out the TV movie to see how accurate the figure is and also how good McGann was in the role.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

He was excellent. The story was kind of boring. Some of the acting from others is cringeworthy, but I actually do like Eric Robert's Master...

Now I can watch it for free, I'll give it a go during the next week and let you know what I think.

I still sorta hope that the figure of 8 gets a single carded release but if the boxset only rumor is legit then I'll bite the bullet and get it as there'll probably be another variant of Tom in there as well and I'm not going to miss any of those.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

he will prolly be $120 plus since you will have to buy 10 other figs in order to get him.

8 is only going to be in the 11 pack? Is that the same with the remaining? I can live with that. $120-ish for 11 figures isn't a bad deal at all.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Thats the current though, but who really knows? Maybe down the road they will release him on his own card. You never really know with CO. :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Sad that the 10 and 11 figures are on the garbage body. But oh how I want that 8 figure.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I don't see how one less POA qualifies as a "garbage" body, but I agree that it would have been nice for Tennants final figure to go out on a new and improved one.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

It's garbage because not only is it the least articulated figure, but it's also not in scale.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Just got word from FP that my Classic wave 2 order has been dispatched! :banana

I think the reason for not getting a better body for 10 at this late stage is that CO probably used up their budget on the figures from the new era.

Which doesn't explain why CO couldn't have done one earlier but it's not exactly something I care about :)

When my other 3 Ice Warriors turn up I'll redo the pic but I was able to pick one up this morning at my local Argos so I thought I'd do a test.

I also got my first look at the Morbius Monster in person as that was the only other wave 2 fig they had in stock and it looks excellent.

As for the Ice Warrior the only minor issue for me is that it seems a bit short ( but not by much ) but it's still a great figure and it's cool that the 2nd Doctor now has an adversary other than a Dalek or Cyberman to be displayed with.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Nice pic Brendan! :rock :rock

Thanks Marc, more pics will be following soon!

As ever it seems CO's initial pics made those sculpts look a LOT worse than they actually are. Too bad the body they're on didn't get a suitable upgrade.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

hahahahaha @Tennant (he is good for something after all eh?) :lol

He'll never be recognised by me as a Doctor but the figure makes good cannon fodder :lol

One thing I noticed with the Mummy that I'd not previously realised is that the canopic jar lid is different to the one that came with the Adventure set though the Mummy is the same.

I also got the Voc this morning which now has light piping in the head that works really well.

Due to FP's initial stock running out before my second order could be filled I'm still waiting for The Master, Cyberman and Ice Warrior as well as 2 more Ice Warriors from Play.com which were listed as being the end of the month anyway.

It kinda sucks not getting all the ones from FP at once but it's got to be an encouraging sign for the line's future if they keep selling so quickly!

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Some good news has leaked from the London Toy Fair,

The 11 Doctor set IS happening but not until September although the price is suprisingly good as it'll be a mere £50 ( $100 USD approx ).

All figures will be exclusive variants so although the wait will suck I won't mind so much if there's some decent versions of Doctors 2-4 in there.

More Classics are also coming this year but in what form yet I don't know so fingers crossed for some more leaked info soon!

Fantastic news! Especially the price, the carded figures have been killing me! At $9-ish a figure, you can't go wrong. :chew
