Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I daresay they'll release single carded versions of the figures anyway.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Very exciting times for Doctor Who Fans. Finally figures of the classic characters.....looking forward to a Zygon or two.

I'm looking forward to the Classic figures much more than the Nu-Who stuff, especially with the Build A Figure concept being part of the line.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

All I know is that I've got most of S4W1 on preorder. As to the issue of constant rehashes of the Doctor - well the Urns couldn't really come with anyone else. The Doctor IS the main character, so it's easier to get him out there with things like Urns, Adipose and things like that. He will always sell. Any Doctor will.

You're right of course, but I think they could do things differently. They could release an accessories set which would have had things like the portable wire unit, Ghost triangulation device, the urns, stuff like that. Hell, throw in a Doctor with that as well, I don't mind.

Or the urns could have come with the giant Devil dude from that episode!

Astrid is out shortly and the Heavenly Host will be released in a 2-pack with Bannakaffalatta.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I saw a store selling Destroyed Cassandra...ALONE...

What's the point in that?

Also, why does my 12" Cyberman have no gun...:(

I've seen some that do, and I'd prefer a Cyber-Leader to have one too...

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Ah yes. So then I'll have 3 Heavenly Hosts. :lol

I'm just going to get the single releases as I'm not bothered about 2 Hosts and can seriously do without another 10th Doctor in his coat lol!
I think Character Options cheaped out by not making the Doctor in his tuxedo for the VOTD set which would have made it more accurate as that's what he wore for most of the episode. It could even be rereleased as a series 2 figure because he also wore a tux in "Rise Of The Cybermen/The Age Of Steel".

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Yeah, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm talking about. That set had two identical figures, one repeat, and 1 unique figure. So really you're paying for two new figures! It's such a rip-off, they should have had Doctor in Tuxedo, Heavenly Host, Astrid & Banakaffalata in that set.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

And series 3 for The Lazarus Experiment:cool:

I'm pretty pleased with these new announcements as things were getting a little two rehashy with Character Options. The Sontaran box set is looking like a distinct possibility though as all four will be new figures or legitimate variants. As BCM already knows I'm crazy about Oods and am pleased to see we've already got several different versions from Planet Of The Ood, I'm hoping for a Halpen Ood in suit from the end of that episode. Fingers crossed.

The Halpen Ood should be a doddle as they can just reuse the suit mold from the John Simm Master figure. I've seen a custom one on doctorwhotoys.net that appears to use that mold along with the existing Ood head & hands and it looks great.

Accessory sets will always fail at retail and the Devil is impractically big. :D

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Yeah, I suppose so.

I've been keeping the packaging for my figures, even though I always open them. Do you think there's much point in me hanging onto the opened boxes?

None whatsoever, unless you simply enjoy owning them.

Yeah, I think you're right. I've been suffering from a mild case of paranoia over future value.

Time to get rid. I might keep the 12" figure boxes though, for ease of storage.

Todays toys, especially opened, will never rise in value unless it is something insanely rare. So yea, save yourself some room and rid yourself of it.

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA. I believe he was "the beast", not the devil :rotfl:rotfl

Ahem, did you not watch Planet of the Ood. Doctor tells Donna it was the Devil :lol
