This was up on eBay yesterday before the CO ninjas ATTACKED!!!

This is what thespy had mentioned as part of the 11 Docs set. Looks legit and like this thing really might be released in August!

If this is the one from the box set then maybe they'll do another one with the red jacket and include that one with Bessie?

That jacket would need a different sculpt though.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Just got a message from WST telling me of a rumor at the WhoNA forums that says new showrunner Steven Moffat has been pushing CO to release Classic figures more regularly.

If that's true I will DEFINITELY take back everything bad I've said about the man including my hatred of "Blink".

Also the 1st Doctor from "An Unearthly Child" will come with a skull.

Do you really hate Tennant that much? I know he's not great at acting angry but he's not Colin Baker terrible. And it seems strange that you should hate an episode which, quite apart from being praised as one of the best episodes ever, hardly features Tennant at all - surely a recommendation for you!

1.I have no issue with the man but his portrayal of the Doctor was for me far worse than anybody else including Colin Baker and the relentless hype and promotion he got in the UK media made me sick of the sight of him.

His fandom's penchant for behaving like the Manson Family towards anyone who doesn't think he's the best thing that ever happened to the show didn't exactly help either.

2.The reputation of an episode amongst other people means nothing to me. I like/dislike things based on my own opinions and despite the Angels being a great concept I consider "Blink" only slightly less awful than "Love & Monsters".

DSD,
Sounds awesome!. Next month will be an expensive one but I'll finally get a Classic TARDIS ( x2 ) and another Hartnell variant :rock

Some slightly disappointing news,

It looks like the 2 TARDIS sets and the 1st Doctor from "An Unearthly Child" have been delayed until early June which is presumably to coincide with the release of the first wave of Matt Smith era figures.

Fortunately for me the delay means I'll be able get the cash together for the 7th Doctor/TARDIS set along with the other 2 :banana

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Hmmm... I'm ok with this news.. though I'll be in Philippines when they are released. which means I won't actually see mine until late July. :(

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Gotta love The Sun for making boobs the focus of the article :rotfl

The figure looks OK but like all of CO's female sculpts save for Donna the likeness isn't brilliant.....maybe it's easier to sculpt monsters :dunno

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Id like to see the comparison shots between the figure and her, obviously just to see if the Sun is true. :yess:

:lol

Assuming the quotes from Matt Smith & Karen Gillan in that article are legit ( not certain given the paper involved ) it's nice to read about their enthusiasm towards figures though in a years time they'll likely be sick of having them shoved in their general direction to be signed every time they go anywhere.

N2k,
I'm sure a comparison will emerge online in due course. Just remember to erase your Internet history :)

A few bits of news for those not in the loop:

11th Doctor FC TARDIS. Due July 2010. It is a brand new sculpt and this picture is likely a photoshop mockup.

Also for those of us in the US: WhoNA has announced that the Unearthly Child Harnell, 4th Doc/Tardis pack, and 7th Doc/Tardis pack are due to arrive on Tuesday.
