From what I know, no..none of these Endoskulls (Icons, Timeless, Toynami, HCG, SideShow) are made of metal, they are all casted in resin or polystone (I'm not quite sure what it is on the inside), but they are chrome plated. So they are cold to touch and feel metal.
None of the parts are 100% metal.

What they need to do is have a switch so the lights stay on.
I thought they would have done this 2nd, 3rd or 4th time round.
Its nice and I own the 1st gen.
Also they did produce a gold one, only 20 made from what I can remember.

The light doesn't stays on ? Maybe just when play the song ?

Yes only 20 pieces of the golden one, it's the rarest of them all, but judging by picture, it looks kinda cheapish..don't know if I'd like to own one!..

Light stays on the same amount of time as sound plays, on the first version, it's about 10 seconds, and then fades away, on this second version, it's about 30 seconds and then fades away.
(looking at the presentation video of this second version, it looks like they even made the fading feature smoother)

Hi Toni, the inside is hollow and there is no metal just the cast resin with the chrome plate as I found out when I dropped mine on the floor and smashed its head wide open.

I have seen them open, but still I'm not sure if it's resin, polystone or some other mixture that they are made of.

it comes down to personal taste and preference in the end.


Toni prefers the HCG one as do i but quite a few of the freaks prefer the SS version more.

Different strokes for different folks.

It's matter of personal preference..

Generally accepted, people like SideShow one, a bit more then HCG/Toynami..Find it to be more menacing (with it's tilted head, reminds of the opening sequence of the T2), and it's actually idealized interpretation of the Endoskull, while Toynami/HCG is more screen accurate.

SideShow has CPU (even tho inaccurate, but still nice feature) and light up eyes can be ON constantly (with very smooth fade out effect)
Toynami/HCG on the other hand doesn't have CPU, but has sound feature (many people find it to be cheapish, and would prefer it without the sound) and eyes light up only during the sound playing (and that's about 10 seconds, on this new version about 30 seconds)..

I personally prefer HCG. If you made poll with the question, I'm pretty sure that SideShow would "win" by a long shot!

well we both forgot to mention that with HCG you can still get a choice between the clean and BD version.

If you went the SS route, the only version avail at retail price is the BD one

SideShow looks better IMO,I will get the BD then clean it,looks the same as the clean one,but for half of the price.
