so are most of you guys original Iphone owners like myself, or are you guys 3G owners?? i think its a good idea to upgrade if one has anything other than the 3G cause is it really worth a couple more hundred dollars for just a couple little things?

I'm a 3G owner and going to upgrade. The video camera, faster processor, bigger HD and new photo editing functionalities make it worth it. Most of the stuff you get with the OS upgrade but its worth the $299 fee. I will not pay the off contract price for it and since a lot of this is just refinements outside of the Video Camera, I would fully expect another iPhone within the next year. Especially if you see an upgraded touch come out around the holidays.

I pay 80 or so a month for unlimited data and text messages.

I got an amazing deal with Rogers (Canada) being that i've been with them for over 7 years now. I pay exactly $85 a month for 2 lines (me and my wife, 3G iphones) that comes with 500 MB data package and all of the others. (day mins, evenings and weekends, caller ID, voicemail, etc, etc)

I've had my 3G now for about 3 weeks and just love it!

I wish plans like this were available in the US. :monkey2

Though, depending on how video gets leveraged, I could see that 500 MB cap get hit in one month. Is that 500 MB for the both of you or each?

That would be each line .............. we should be fine though, we seldomly use it to be honest.

500 MB for each? Then that is a fantastic deal! I wish these packages were available in the US. :monkey2
I pay $75, my phone plan is $45 and $30 for Unlimited Data. I've heard stories from AT&T reps where people don't want to pay the extra $30 for the Data plan, use the hell out of the Internet and download crap and end up with bills up to $2,000+. :horror :lol Paying the $30 for the unlimited is totally worth it.

I'm just working on getting my first cell phone. Getting it today for clients, and for safety reasons.

I am looking at the student plan 20 a month.. but with extra hidden fees it's gonna be closer to 30... that gives me 5 PM Weekday Evenings, Weekends, unlimited texting, and web browsing, lots of day time minutes...

Looking at getting a Motorola Krzr or Razor 2 9m... Already own two Macs, a PowerMac tower, and a Mac Book Pro laptop, not to mention the latest iPod Nano, so I am not needing a iPhone right now. Would love to have one, but honestly all I need is a simple cell phone that does decent text messaging.

I dunno, I never go over 350 MB. The deal TheTerminator got is for 2 phones. Fantastic deal, imo. But you're right, there needs to be some sort of warning system to let you know if you're in danger of going over your limit.

But really, 500 MB should be more than enough unless you're gonna be downloading a ton of video. And I might be mistaken, but I think video purchasing and rentals need to be done on 802.11x anyway.

Mac and iPod user needs help for first-time cell phone purchase...

Motorola Krzr or Razor 2 9m?

Like others have stated, get an iPhone. Buy a used one, jailbreak it (it's really easy, really), and use whatever compatible carrier you want. Pay as you go if you so wish.

I am the guy with like 10,000 invested in Mac products.... heck what do you think I am on now ^^^^^es?! A 5,000 SUPED UP MAC! But I am low on cash, and my school sponsor is buying my phone and they say no iPhone. Trust me I want an iPhone. I just need a capable cell phone right now. I can live vicariously through you guys right now. I bet most of you don't have the top Mac desktop, and laptop... so :monkey5

Which one is better? hehe

One day I will own an iPhone.

P.S. All Mac users are welcome in an iPhone thread.
