Good news for 3G owers!!

If you have a 3G, you can upgrade to the 3GS on Friday for $199 for the 16GB or $299 for the 32GB if are eligible for an upgrade date in July, August or September. So nice of AT&T.

If your date is after that, then you have to wait.

Not a good enough deal for me honestly. If they lowered the price of each a $100.

These are the subsidized prices. Can't get 'em cheaper, unless you have a gift card or win one.

The standard (non-subsidized) prices for the 3GS are $499 (16GB) and $699 (32GB).

Black 16GB 3G S for me. Not sure when I'll get it since I didn't order it until Monday and I live in the middle of nowhere.

It is more than just a phone. Its one of the coolest items I've owned. I just can't see myself if I didn't already have the 3g dropping $700 for this new version. I love my 3g and can't see myself giving up on having it or the next version anytime soon. These phones do so much its crazy honestly.

It is the coolest thing in the tech world and it lets me stay one step ahead.
Its the monthly fees that kill me but I guess I can get over that.

depends on what you're going to do.

for driving i just use the google maps function and glance at the layout every so often. for hiking and such, there's an app under the navi category in the app store called motion x-gps that looks pretty good.

i'm digging the new satellite radio app, now i can listen at the gym so long as i have a cell signal. nice.

Yeah more or less looking for a play by play, driving navigation. My Samsung Instinct has one that works better than a Garmen. It would be nice if IPhone had an app that would mimic the talking stand by play by play GPS.

Neat....my wife and her friends got the white one too...they felt it was more feminine.

Even though I could get it early due to the new AT&T thing but I'm still going to wait through the summer.....let all the early bugs get worked out.

Pfft! I think it just looks a bit classier... and it reminds me more of the Silver backed Gen1 iPhone, which will always be golden to me.

Even though I could get it early due to the new AT&T thing but I'm still going to wait through the summer.....let all the early bugs get worked out.

Any bugs will surely be firmware or software based, though. So far, none have been reported in any of the early reviews and there are apparently no major bugs with the OS 3.0 software.
