Statue New LOTR Maquette Line Announced!

Eomer, Faramir, and a Prologue Elven warrior as part of the next wave of maquettes! When SS said they were just beginning to hit their stride....they weren't kidding.

I think they knew the LSB missed the mark. I'm sure Trev or Tim will be on this piece and it will rock. So unless the same person sculpts it that did the LSB and they take the same approach it will look a little different.

Looks like this line will be as expansive as we all hoped,these are the sort of characters that really get my attention,cant wait to see their Orcs,Uruk's and Trolls also

Don't think that will happen. They've already showed in these statues they can sculpt LOTR just fine.

Maybe if i can 'weather' his robes like you can with the PF!

I think the other versions of Gandalf (especially the SSW statue and the PF) have that weathered look to the robes that works so well for the character, that this version almost looks too clean be comparison. I still really like it, but Gandalf is one character that has been really well done by Sideshow and Weta in other formats, so the maquette line has a lot to compete with in terms of expectations!

I thought the weathering was fine on the piece at Comic-Con and had as much weathering if not more than the PF.

I gotta say, after that GTW PF travesty I am quite looking forward to seeing him as a maquette.

Yeah, same here. But, you could always get Gandalf on Shadowfax (SS/W), if you wanted.

I always considered going back and getting that one again.

The steed pieces were always ny favorites out of the weta line, never owned any of them though.
