That is the best description I 've heard so far, and it reflects my own sentiments perfectly. I love the PF's, and will be collecting them until the day SS no longer produces them, but [to borrow your phrase] this line feels like home.

Yup, I loved the PF's I've had and I will someday rebuy Aragorn and get GTG but I feel like Sam at the end of ROTK I'm back.

I get the excitement over the maquette line, it's looking to be off to a great start. But, I wouldn't go so far to say it feels like home either....

If it was announced that SS and Weta were teaming up again to do polystone, that would indeed, feel like "home".

That being said, out of all of SS's lines right now this one is the one I am most interested in.

Congrats on Gandalf! Aragorn may be a bit tougher, but no doubt there will be cancellations prior to orders being processed.

I put my wait list reservation in on Aragorn on the 4th, and it was just converted! Good luck, you may be due!

Well, based on SS's latest Q&A response it looks like Faramir and Eomer will be a part of the maquette line in short order, with Denethor and Haldir [it's about time!] arriving sometime down the road.

Question : I think your creative team should really be commended in the way they have approached the new LOTR maquette line. Obviously a lot of thought and consideration has gone into the execution of this line! We can’t wait to see what’s next after first 6 or so that we’ve seen in progress – any hints? Or even more photos of Arwen, Gimli & Boromir would be appreciated! – AND – Has Sideshow decided which characters will be produced as part of a “second wave” of LOTR statues? And if so, do they include any of the following characters: Faramir, Eomer, Denethor,or Haldir? And whichever characters are in the planning stage? I think I can speak for all LOTR fans when I say none of us will be upset should you decide to post more conceptual drawings for us to drool over!

Answer : Major, major thanks. We’ll share your feedback with all involved! You’ll see more of Arwen and Gimli soon, and Boromir shortly after. Faramir and Eomer have been designed (and they look great). Denethor and Haldir will wait for further down the road. We’ll see about sharing more of the design work with you soon!

That's wonderful! I'm especially looking forward to Eomer (would be awesome to have a statue of him wearing his helmet!). If we do see Haldir, I've always wanted to see him as he was when he arrived at Helm's Deep (though that look just cries out for PF treatment).

The Twilight WK/Wraith? that would be one of the highlights of the entire line for me! I think that was my question, I've asked it a few times, though I'm sure that others have expressed the same interest.

____ yeah! I just did the old Tiger Woods fist pump reading that. I will order Eomer and Faramir for sure. Denethor is a strong possiblity if he comes sitting on his throne. Haldir could be ordered as well.

I'm pretty certain the Prologue Elven warrior is a maquette.

I think the Uruk-Hai Commander standing atop that big rock at Helms Deep would be a perfect candidate for this line especially with the elaborate bases that we are getting.

They'd better do a better job than they did with the LSB, but i see no reason to swap it with my SSW one.

I'm sure the statue will be fine. Honestly, for me the SSW one was one of the most overrated pieces I ever owned. I think I sold it a few weeks after getting it.
