That was WAY too much information :horror

So you must have used a tripod to hold the camera on this shot you posted before?

Just make sure not to look at it from the bobble-head angles in real life :)

To be fair though - there have been many good suggestions on this very forum to minimise issues:

  1. Don't buy it.
  2. Leave in the box.
  3. Return to Sideshow.
  4. View from a considerable distance.
  5. Send to another country.
  6. Put in your home-theatre (where the lights are usually out).

Hey - I'm not judging - whatever works :family

lol the thing is though, in real life I don't really notice any bobble head effect no matter how I'm looking at it. It's something that's only apparent in some photos, depending how they're taken and what they're taken with. A mobile phone camera will only emphasize this. It might have something to do with the pose.

this photos are perfect no bobbin head here

cant wait when I get mine and fix a few things I don't like about this statue

1 repaint the whole figure
2 add led laser on helmet
3 add chrome mesh eyes
4 add bone trophy

5 reposition the right thigh armour
6 add better netting
7 add rubber dreadlock
8 customise a new base with more fern n leaves
9 add side pouch
10 chrome the blade on wrist gauntlet

Thank you, and wow that's a long list of mods! Looking forward to seeing the end result :)

Those gums though... How weird.

haha agreed, I also got the grilled steak vibe when looking at the gums :lol they certainly could've done that better.

Great Pics xpl0sive!! I love these two!

Thank you my friend :) hopefully these pics will help those on the fence make a decision. It's certainly not perfect, but I can't stop looking at mine lol. Really nice piece overall. I think someone with some skills can mod this and make it perfect.

That would be ironic - the pose is the best thing abut the whole thing for me - probably because it goes so well with their "Dutch".

I like the pose too, but i think the slight lean forward can make the head appear larger than the body in pics, especially pics taken with a phone.

My above pics were taken with an SLR.

. . . and just so everyone is perfectly clear - JAWS is talking about the Predator maquette . . .

. . . not a case of "just when you thought it was safe to go back in the home-theatre" . . .

Some say this maquette has bobble head. It’s half-truth because Pred 1987 is unique for not having balanced body proportions. It has smaller head (+bio) than others (this made Cinemaquette look off for some), longer arms and legs. It’s not until Pred 2 that the Pred has balanced body proportions IMO since P2 was “meant to be seen” from the beginning, unlike P1.

Most toy companies don’t adopted this smaller head method and go with their interpretations (big head) instead.

I'm just not a fan of toys, no matter how realistic or how good the paint job looks, they still look like toys on a shelf. I used to collect Hot Toys and their headsculpts look far more realistic than Sideshow statues, but they still don't come close to the presence Premium Formats/Maquettes have on display, which is why I sold all my Hot Toys and stopped collecting them.

I can't believe believe some people are comparing a custom $500 paint job to a factory done one.:slap

This thing really doesn't photograph well - that shot makes him look like a Super-deform more than a bobblehead.

Glad you're happy with him though!

This was just a quick shot with my phone. He doesn't go well in photos, you're right about that, but the head is not as bobbly as you should think. Looks awesome in person.

How does this one compare to the original Predator 1 Marquette? Is this one polystone and as heavy as the original? I like the open mouth of the original better.
