Anyone looking to sell their original P1 maquette? :lol I'll, uh, generously take it off your hands so you can grab this version.

I would - but the right thigh armour is in the correct position on THAT - SOOOOOO (just in case Sideshow's new one stays as dodgy as it seems to be) :)

Been a loooooonnnngg time since I posted here, but this piece has woke me from my slumber.

I like it. I like it a lot. It's simple and doesn't scream try hard like a lot of sideshow pieces. If they get this right it could become a classic. Only thing is I would imagine the HS will come with the mandibles closed with that pose. I always thought the preds look much better with the screaming head. Still, I think I might have to re-join SS.

The originals are not going to be selling for what they once were at this point....

True. EX might maintained their value but reg... ummm.... Now people had alternate choice to choose from for a true 1/4 representation of the character. The same happened with Doom PF, but that thing is in the league of its own and still maintained its value to this day because old and new are different enough. This one? It won't crash and burn but it won't be the same anymore.
Museum pose? Check. Alternate portrait? Check. Companion pieces? Check. Even if SS did screw this one up in paint apps/ accuracy/ whatever, this thing will sell like a hotcake. Especially to those who wants to buy just ONE statue to represent entire Predator franchise.

Why is it always scrawny? I swear ever since the original one, every P1 piece looks scrawny.

Really looking forward to seeing the unmasked head.
With regards to the thigh armour... Now it's been pointed out. Damn! It looks to be in line with his knee ?

Someone way smarter than me commented "it might be just glued on which means it would be an easy fix on the production run".

It WOULD likely be glued on over the netting rather than sculpted as part of the leg mould.

They would have to adjust whatever keying they have put in place between the leg and back of the armour. May also have to re-sculpt the leg armour completely though - the profile would change.

This won't happen spike, the armour pieces have large pegs which are glued into holes in the body (assuming this is constructed like the P2 maquette) Plus the material is very brittle and easily snaps as I found out. You will not be repositioning any of the armour on this.

I wouldn't be so sure of that, this one looks really nice for sure and is a viable alternative, even companion piece to the original maquette. But the selling point of the SWS maquette is its pedigree, it will forever be the only 1/4 P1 produced with and under the supervision of the man himself. I prefer the pose on the new one no doubt, but the mask is much better on the original. This new maquette, as nice as it is will never feature in a picture like this...

It would be nice if the masked head had the light up lasers... if that technology wasn't lost ten years ago, that is.

I didn't say WE would reposition - THEY need to fix it NOW - before production & assembly.

Yeah - I noticed that on some early development photo's before any armour was added.

Looks better now the armours on (excepting the thigh thingy), but still a bit on the skinny side.

No way they don't fix the positioning of the thigh armor before production. That would just be dumb. Come on SS.. Don't be dumb lol
