This won't happen spike, the armour pieces have large pegs which are glued into holes in the body (assuming this is constructed like the P2 maquette) Plus the material is very brittle and easily snaps as I found out. You will not be repositioning any of the armour on this.

I wouldn't be so sure of that, this one looks really nice for sure and is a viable alternative, even companion piece to the original maquette. But the selling point of the SWS maquette is its pedigree, it will forever be the only 1/4 P1 produced with and under the supervision of the man himself. I prefer the pose on the new one no doubt, but the mask is much better on the original. This new maquette, as nice as it is will never feature in a picture like this...

Agree completely. The new maquette is more of a complementary piece than a replacement for the original in any predator themed collection. I feel if SS keeps the ES reasonably low on the new maquette, both should hold to their value well.

Don't worry about the thigh armor freaks.

SS will email everyone who placed a preorder to notify that they will be pulling the product off the market.
Then they will stage another preorder period with a higher ES and show pics of production statue with fixed thigh armor.

The 'actual' statue will release with amateur paint app and a gangsta lean. Don't count on a recognizable biomask either. :lol

I wouldn't put money on this bit - but (for some reason) the rest sounds completely plausible :)

If we don't get other pics that show it's really OK, we need to get Matt (@python) to direct mail that Sideshow "ego" guy again to make sure they know about this concern ASAP. Remembering what happened with the P2 maquette . . . I'll admit it's quite possible they will screw this up.

. . . not that I'm putting any pressure on you Matt ol' friend :)

:rotfl Oh, and the unmasked head won't have any quills either :)

Hey, I'm no expert on the Jungle Hunter been isn't this maquette missing the spine trophy that supposed to hang on the opposite side of the skull trophies? I remember this was a, pardon the pun, a bone of contention when the 1/5 Predator statue was revealed.

Yeah thanks ;)

I know you don't get on for whatever reason, but to be fair, he asked me to do that for him rather than me just assuming so. He had genuine intentions of making a few changes to the P2 I'm sure. I think the bean counters have the final say over what the art directors can and can't do unfortunately. Although this looks to be much closer to the real P1 than the P2 maquette was to the real City hunter suit. Certainly no goofy stand out flaws which is good. It's possible a few little bits still need adding to this.

I wasn't blaming him - YOU said he tried - and I trust your word.

My lack of faith is because of the approach "whoever" took even though the masses pointed out multiple flaws that could have been easily fixed.

Basically - "they" stubbornly refused to adjust things, and everyone (them and us) suffered as a result.

However - not here to re-tread the P2 issues - just wanted to nudge you to (please) attempt to contact him IF further pictures confirm our concerns.

"A Predator maquette! You're repainting man!"

"I ain't got time to repaint."

"Oh, OK... You got time to return?"

I don't think he frequents this board, I'm sure he'll see the feedback over on SF once they are all back from SDCC. I do look forward to seeing if they act on it this time, it's a great statue for sure, but that is clearly oversight whether it was just built up wrong or not. Moving it would certainly be a positive move for all.

When I was little, we found a maquette. It looked like... like, butchered. The old woman in the village crossed herself and whispered crazy things. Strange things.
"El predator no bueno!"

Only in recent years this happened. And this year... it's bad!
We begin finding more maquettes. We found them sometimes with human teeth on the base... and sometimes... much, much, worse.

"El demonio que hace que los ojos googli estatuas!" means...

..... "The demon who makes googly eyed statues!"
:panic:

Perhaps, but something doesn't sit right to my eye with the proportions. Could be a photo thing

attachment-30.jpg

To my eye the arms look a bit skinny but the main issue is the leg from the knee down.
Knees calfs and ankles are all armoured and look really skinny, especially compared to the muscular thighs.
The armour should make them have more girth. Remove it and it would be stick thin.
Look at the right knee, looks way too thin imo.

The only improvement on the SWS is the smaller shoulder canon.
