Question: "a lot of people say the predator maquette has a big head compared to his body that it almost looks like a bobble head. whats your opinion since obviously you saw this in person. Thanks"

Reply: "up close this piece is amazing & I didn't get the bobble head impression at all I think an unmasked portrait would solve the illusion that the masked version may be giving of having a big head if that makes any sense"

Honestly I only care what Sideshow has to say about it. We're still waiting to hear back from SS Alex on that very topic.
What are you expecting her to say?

"Yes, this particular maquette was designed to be a bobblehead from the very beginning."

???

I thought you asked but it was only regarding the thigh armor - I just checked. My bad.

I'm not expecting any answer in particular. However, I'm still interested to see what they say regarding both issues.

No worries - just making sure.

I'm hoping we'll get a "we'll fix it for production" regarding the thigh armour, but as Col says, there's no way they will admit to the head/body proportion being out of wack even though we could all (well - MOSTLY all) see it.

.

I didn't realize before but the thigh armor appears to be in the exact same position in this photo. Doesn't lend much hope to the idea that it may have just been a mistake with the one being displayed at the con.

Can anyone actually give examples in the past where Sideshow corrected little mistakes like this before going into final production?

I can give plenty of examples where things got made WORSE in production.

If I remember correctly they made some changes to the 1:5 Elder. Initially it had no mandible tooth piercing and the wrong sword. They ended up adding the piercing and a more movie accurate sword and kept as the artist designed sword too.

Yeah - think you are right on that.

If I remember correctly, the hole for the piercing was always there on the tooth. You could see it on all the pics SS released. They goofed and forgot to put the ring on the tooth before snapping the marketing pics.

The sword was straight up wrong from the beginning. :lol
