It doesn't look the way savageHULK drew it up, but that was based on a conversation with SS Alex. I'd feel much better if Sideshow would either just show us a picture of the wire/rod or break a statue on video so we can see inside of it.

Interesting I thought that was an accurate drawing of how it was explained. There is not much room to work with so the drawing makes sense.

I'm no engineer and I suck at physics, so bear with me for a second. It's not about how long the bar goes through the body, I'm concerned about how short and thin is the peg that comes out of his hand. You can put the thickest rod in the body but if the point where it comes out and attaches to the base is so small, it seems to me it's not very useful for stability, because that's the point where pressure applies the most.
Example of what I'm saying, this is the rod coming out of Black Bolt's leg, you can see by this pics that it's very thinck, long and slides alomost entirely into the base:

What I'm hoping is that the rod goes from the base through the black looking box, up the arm and into the body. If thats the case then the black box is part of the support system and it lends more stabilty to the anchor into the base because theres less weight stress on just the rod and it distributes across the entire black box.

Honestly though I would have been even more comfortable had they attached the hand to an entire section of the girder that fit into the main part for stabilty, ala the hard hero Daredevil statue.

This is my first order through Sideshow, just curious how soon do statues normally go out of stock after they are released (not counting pre-order time period)? I know every statue is different, just looking for an average.

This one will take a while as there are 2,500 exclusives and 5,000 regulars. Hard to say to be honest.

Hard to say since every edition size is different. Prime 1 Batman and Deathstroke EX sold out in less than 24 hours (1000 + 750 ES, respectively). Their new Hulk maquette EX (250 ES) hasn't sold out yet and it's been up for a month or two. Their Batman PF Regular edition went on sale 3 years ago and isn't sold out yet (7500 ES).

Ok thanks.. but on average, exclusives normally sell out during the pre-order phase and regulars stay around after orders ship? I guess Im asking, do statues normally sell out before the ship date? I have my eye on a few pre-orders that I dont want to miss out on.. Ive been mainly collecting 1/6 scale but this ASM has started a 1/4 crave :)

hmm okay, thanks for the info. I'll pre-order anyway just to be on the safe side.

Just depends on the character and ES size. Prices are going up now so that may draw back some people on the initial PO's (which of course are always the EX's for SSC).

Yeah, if I know I want the EX then I tend to pre-order. Sometimes I wait for it to go on Waitlist and then go on the wait list the same day (it always ends up converting). But in most cases the EX pre-orders sell out and go to waitlist before it ships. Spiderman is different so far because the ES is so damn high.

Here is a pic of how the support ROD goes through the body.

The same support rod cannot go through the arm and hand unless it takes a sharp turn at the wrist. On a straight line that rod would go right through the top of his hand.

I definitely see what you are saying. Maybe its is an "Z" shape at the palm. Sideshow Alex told savageHULK there is a support going through arm then takes a turn into the body. He drew out what was told to him onto the body. At the time we didn't know the orientation of the Palm peg, so that part was not clear to draw out.

I'm not worried about the hand. I definitely think the extra support around that peg will be sufficient for support. As I said before, it's more the wrist area I am concerned about. I guess time will tell.

Can't wait until someone gets a 'destroy' request or x rays this.
Won't order until I can see what's in place.

I hope there is a rod running up the arm but I can't see it happening.

Anyone run a magnet up the arm?

There isn't an issue with the hand. It's the wrist, arm and shoulder that will take the strain.

I would very much like to see this even though I already ordered the statue. I'm not just going to take SSAlex's word for it because things can change in production and I'm not sure he/she is always in the know about what goes on at that stage. Seeing the interior construction and support would ease my mind about the long-term durability of this piece.
