Seems like if that was the case we would see more issues like this one

My point is that it's not the norm as all manufacturing companies have an operating procedure they follow for minimal damage so they can to meet their clients order in full on time. Shipping items before they're ready doesn't do anyone any favors, which at this point I'm sure SSC is aware of as are the people they deal with. And there are a number of factors (most don't consider) why something can arrive in bad shape, outside of peoples ability to control.

This is not me defending SS but offering another perspective. So if you choose to keep buying and are not happy with the results or policy, whos at fault?

There's been issues from the beginning, just more of them now.

The defending of the company is unbelievable. I don't know of any other industry where multiple hunderd dollar/pound items arriving with issues is justified :huh
You pay the money, it is their duty to make sure the product arrives at your doorstep in satisfactory condition.

I could pick anyone of my 40+ statues and guarantee rubbing paper on them would not result in paint transfer.

:goodpost: Everything this poster stated is so true. This is like having a battered wife justify why her husband bests her all the time. No justification just like no justification for a reputable company to deliver a $500+ statue with these issues that shouldn't happen in production or packaging.

I'm bummed to see all the problems people have had with this piece and the paint rubs. It's shocking to see how deep this paint rub issue runs. To me it smells like they rushed this thing out. If I recall wasn't this release pushed up several months (probably to beat out Iron Studios spidey announcement I dunno) which might shed light as to why so many of these had paint issues from packaging. I'd be embarrassed if I was Sideshow. I might expect this blunder from a new company, but not an experienced one. And not to the degree we see here. And we're talking about Spidey an A-list character! Wow.

I decided to keep this on flex pay instead of paying it off early in hopes the "paint gate" smudges were just with the past batch. I'm praying they didnt make the same mistake with the new batch. And a petty $50 refund for this, is an uppercut to the bucky balls...royal embarrassment.

Yea. Weird that it's only now we are seeing issues.

I'm guessing you didn't mean me, but just to be clear I don't defend SSC of these issues. It's their product that their selling, so QC issues falls on them. I wouldn't stand up for it if I got a defective piece.

As collectors we should ALL stand united and not divided and look at this from a logical, intelligent, reasonable standpoint. Otherwise, SS will continue to treat us like slaves treating us like take it or leave it. We don't need your business. They may not say it like that, but you can read it that way. A replacement should always be in order for defective, damaged parts and not a measly $40 credit to rectify the problem. I think if SS wants to keep their top premier statue status in the business, then they need to start earning that reputation again. Presently, they are not hiring the right people in China to do these things. These things have layers of protection not to mention that encased foam to protect it so I just can't believe it's a transport problem. Unless it's dropped from a high altitude then maybe I would believe it. This Spidey could've been 1 of SS's best, but it's all gone now with these disastrous paint issues. It all seems to be a risky business now to order these things cause there's like a 50/50 chance you will get a C- statue. Sideshow can do a lot to prevent some of these worries.

Can't wait for these unmasked heads! image.jpeg

That first unmasked head looks really good so far. Don't know if it's necessary for me though.

Got the shipping confirmation. Mine arrives on Monday. Here's hoping I won't be disappointed.

I mentioned it in another thread but I'd love to see SS adopt the same packaging standards that XM has. Thick cardboard box, Velcro straps, reinforced corners, no wax paper (at least in the Daredevil case that I was looking at), etc. They also come with a nice print and a diagram for how all of the pieces are supposed to fit into the packaging. I would pay a premium for the added protection and ease of repackaging for storage.

Don't forget slavery. SS treats their customers like slaves. Important to note that point.

Slaves to the hobby? The addict is also to blame. We assume a lot with rampant speculation, right or wrong. I like the hobby but I wont let it drive me nuts.

If anything, ask SS to inspect your order before it ships.
