He's $75 more than Thanos but look at the spinning hammer Thor comes with. Up to debate if that's worth the extra money but it account for it I think.

Wait wait, See what you just did there, He's only $75 more than Thanos....Well we could argue that Arkham Bats is only $70 more than Comic Bats and comes with a cloth cape and two switch out arms instead of just one. Thanos has just as many switch outs as Thor, Thor just has one that's a bit larger. So if That's the $75 then when the next piece comes out if it's around the same then you'll know, but I've actually been seeing it go up steadily with each release since the first POs if you think about Hulk was huge, and only the same price as Cap, and is probably bigger than Thanos and Thor, yet both are more expensive.

Oh no Josh I got the point, but I guess I forgot to mention that the SSC Cost vs XM Cost discussion has been mention a dozen or more times by now as well. In the end XM has to be more expensive to ensure they make a profit with a smaller production run. However, again the debate is slightly pointless. Can't we just enjoy talking about THIS statue for, Oh I don't know, more than 24 hrs before the same old same old happens to this thread.

Evidently not, since it seems like someone has to bring it up in a non XM thread every single release. And no, I didn't bring it up. :lol

Well than people should just ignore it ... let it be said and wither and die on the vine.... come on we are starting to do it with a certain persistent someone. Surely we can do it with this... :lol

I still think its not quite as stark as SSC's price increases but I see your point. I guess I do feel like you feel the hit less with XM since what you see is definitely what you get. As opposed to SSC where you pay more and you don't see the increased price giving you much improvement. In any case, I'm capping the XM-SSC debate as I don't want it to turn into that. I was merely responding to other discussing it. I am not a homer for XM as you can tell from my POs. I just don't like a lot of the recent avenues SSC is taking. For this thread, I am just interested to see what SSC prices Spidey at. If it's what I think it will be, it will be lots of fun to see the reactions in here:lol

that new Thor is $795 USD before shipping Filip, that's just about double.

Look at what you are getting with XM's Thor. Spinning hammer, swap out portraits, swap out hands, swap out hammers, and a collectible coin. I'm sure if he was released with only the Odin Sword as a swap out feature, the price would have been significantly less.:lol Also, don't forget, retailers and XM themselves reward their customers with nice cash discounts for their repeat customers. Prestige members are paying $715 USD for the XM Thor. Peeps may not want all the extras that come with the XM Thor but there's no denying all those extras will add heavily to the retail price of the piece. It's not exactly a fair comparison between the 2 pieces (comparing the 2 compaines Hawkeyes, Ms Marvels, or Caps is, even though XM offers more swap out parts). Also, don't forget that XM's Thor is a solid statue and there is no compromise in materials, QC, or paint apps.

All that said, I did order the SSC modern Thor. I think it looks great. However, I did so because I liked they way it looked over the initial XM Thor preview (the one Tony C was working on). When XM scrapped that piece and went with the current Sosa sculpt, I can't honestly say the SSC modern Thor looks better anymore. The problem is that I had already committed to the SSC Thor (I've been on my final flex payment for awhile now) when the revised XM Thor went up for PO. That's all water under the bridge though because I know I'll still enjoy the SSC modern Thor. I'll be very happy with how it looks IF QC holds up. But, I'll always admit that the XM Thor is the Thor statue to own (IMO). I would've splurged the extra $$$ on it if shipping charges weren't so damn expensive. It's the combination of the 2 that prove to be lethal to my wallet and cause me to keep my XM purchases in check.

Wow. 2 switch outs! Really need that rod in the arm for support though. If not, I might just build a custom leg support. Looks like a rooftop shantee or something...

So the weird shoulder and th G.I. Joe legs don't bug you. Meh, to each their own. Now back to Spidey

Are you telling me Thor is larger than Thanos? Because he's definately more Expensive than Thanos.

Well the SSC Darkseid PF seems to be about the same size as the Supes PF. Many peeps are complaining about how small Darkseid is. Supes PF is actually heavier and incorporates mixed media. Why is Darkseid priced $200 more? I've come to the conclusion that we'll never know why companies price their products the way they do. Ultimately, each individual collector has to decide if a piece they are interested in is a worthwhile addition to their collections.

But, you were right in your other post... back to Spidey. He does look great.

How exactly do we know the Supes PF is heavier than the Darkseid PF?

My post was not about SS VERSUS XM it was why SS is able to keep upping their price and the fact it is a smart move from a business standpoint.

Seems like the Spidey PF has been well and truely forgotten about :lol

I'll be back for the full reveal, everything that needs to be said, ermmm, has been :D

Well I think that's why things degenerate down to this little debates and the back and forth, we really now have nothing until Tuesday....but we still want to be in the Spidey Thread because let's face....Everything else is delayed or not coming out for a while.
