:lol bread base :lol

I dont think that is what it looks like myself. Actually, I think they did a fairly good job of showing an explosion, and if other 'action oriented' pieces convey the same thing, you could have one heck of a display.

I am already wavering about waiting for the variant, not a good sign, I think it is THAT impressive. But agree with El Mule, at these price points we should be getting MULTIPLE switchouts for both the Reg and EX. You have to go Mythos level on these pieces to really make it feel like you are getting the right amount of bang for your buck.

Hasn't been officially confirmed but enough hints have been dropped about Green Goblin going with this

On the other forum:
- Igo mentioned this is the first in a line if Spidey and villains
- about a week ago I asked him for a hint at the first villain, the hint he gave is that villain heavily incorporates green. He also said it wouldn't be ready for SDCC but would be seen soon after
- the description page for the Spidey PF flat out says the pumpkin bombs on the base are Green Goblin's. That might not mean too much since Cylcop's PF had Magneto's helmet on it, years later still no Magneto PF.

But I also asked what makes these Spidey PFs a "line" of their own. He said the bases are themed and all of them will be in more dynamic poses, no museum poses. That being the case, it seems highly likely there's a Green Goblin coming to match this Spidey.

Greater question is what other villains are we getting and how deep will this line go?...I hope its ongoing

This is both great news AND NOT so great news (for me). As I previously said, I'm just the part-time statue collector with just 4 PFs. Spidey was my all-time fave as a kid, and Goblin was the best nemesis. So these two would be enough to check off this set on my very, very short list of wanted PFs. If there are more villains planned, it would be a case by case basis. I 'sense' Sinister Six as the rogue's line-up... Gonna be an expensive year

I personally love everything about it.

For those who are not crazy about the explosion base motif, you better get used to it & learn to love it, because we'll get more of the same with emissions coming from Green Goblin's glider. So changing the smoke/explosion color scheme to brown or greyish tones may not be a good idea, as the elongated Goblin smoke trail may take us from bread to turd.

after my Wonder Woman disappointment im considering skipping even spidey, just cant deal with these frustrations, this calendar year I have only re-ordered the Pred 2 maq, need Black cat to complete my campbell collection
Spidey and Aquaman were on the list to get,,,but Igo hinted a variant spidey , might wait for that since I have the original spidey comiq.. I used to order 15-20 statues from Sideshow yearly from 2011,, last year around 12,, this year Im pretty sure it will be around under 5,,,,meanwhile XM has 3 of my pre-orders this year already, SHe-hulk, Ms Marvel and Thor,
i used to staunchly support Sideshow even with their high ES, cos i always felt SS had the superior Art department working for them,, but whats the point,, the final product is full of quality issues which I usually ignore but Sideshow doesnt deal with damages the way they used to before and i dont like keeping damaged ones in my collection and I cant settle for return cos I will lose the customs fees(85-90$approx),instead Im stuck with 25$ credit

I can't imagine anyone who's interested in the XM Spidey pieces to pass on this and given the price difference it feels like a no brainer to me. Since it seems like we all wish XM had a higher ES, this should sell at least the first thousand or so pieces instantly. All I'm thinking about is whether to get the ex or reg given it's a $250 price difference for us international collectors.

On another note, I wonder if this one or the old Com is closer to Mister Canale's heart. Wonder which one the master likes better. I'm liking this one better.

The XM version would cost me as much as the Sideshow Exclusive (I'm international too), so it's not exactly a no brainer. It all comes down to who has the better offer, and while the Sideshow Spidey itself is great, I think the base and switch outs are very lackluster. If XM comes up with a good pose and the usual impressive base and switch outs, that's the real no brainer.
The Regular just doesn't feel like a 500€ statue either.

Oh, well I meant like houses in a different area...like...farther away. I told you I wasn't going to give a good metaphor! :lol

Rare things sell for more to those who want to pay for them. Not all statues skyrocket in value to the point where Sideshow should feel there's loads of money being left on the table. They make edition sizes for the masses, but have now priced out a great deal of people. Someone just mentioned they were going to cancel Power Girl -- and may still, though they'll lose money -- so they can get this. Power Girl still hasn't sold out, so now those could possibly start piling up. As could other pieces with large ES. We'll have to wait and see!

I know this was talked about in a thread a few months ago...maybe longer...but nobody should ever buy these statues as an investment. Especially now. Unless you mean Sideshow thinking about making profits on their statues and taking the aftermarket into consideration and just simply beating people who re-sell statues to the punch by adding the costs upfront. If that's the case then it's not smart business in the long run, which has been made clear by the negative reaction here (and we can all just wait until the top posts on Facebook sound like!)

I know I was just messing with you.

As for buying statues as an investment. I agree 100% no one should buy statues as an investment.

I think the pose is cool but I'm worried about the paint on the production pieces. You can see some sloppy lines on the prototype HS already--not horrible but doesn't make me have a lot of faith when they're going to produce several thousand of them.

Personally, I like the EX. The webbing is a nice touch and the alternate head is nice as an extra. The way I look at it, in the rare event that the regular head becomes damaged at some point in the future, you get another head as a replacement. ;) I think most EX pieces are gimmicks that usually stay in my boxes. There have been some good ones, but most are just nice-to-haves. For me it doesn't matter because I'm blowing my wad of reward points and I might as well get the EX.

It's no surprise, this piece needs a GG to make it work.
$1,000 Dio anyone :lol

I think it does just fine on it's own. You don't need GG for this piece.. The Story is right there. But for those that want it GG it's a great option and I am looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

I get that the price has you down. I don't blame you. It really sux for you UK guys.

Yeah, it sucks.

What I don't understand is people complaining about the price and still ordering.
Speak with your wallet, it's the only way SS will listen.

As I said, the only way I'll get this is if the Ex is still available after Spook and I manage to get lots of free RPs.

I can easily afford it but it's just not worth a massive £400 to me.
Not long ago the average PF was costing me £300.

I'm still waiting on MKII Maquette production pics, IM pieces from Legacy have always been much more than a standard PF and I can order that right now for £355.

Even the professionally painted protos ain't what they used to be :lol

Suppose it's a better reflection on what will actually be delivered.

Yeh i don't think this is usual proto qaulity, i think SS are trying the "what you see is what get get" route, which is better, helps me decide not to get this
