alright finally. the first teaser didnt impress me, after seeing this i might actually go check the movie out.

And this Trailer held a lot back, I think the flying scenes are going to be amazing.

It's alright, the teaser got me hooked more though. Prolly because of Brando's voice.

Loved the teaser too, not just the Brando voice but the John Williams score selection from the original Superman opening sequence...

Yeah, that's why the initial trailer sold me to this concept... just hearing Brando and listening to that classic JW score... showed reverance for the original two and made me feel that warm nostalgia. I'll be seeing it for sure.

So far I'll have to say that I like Routh.... he seems to have a handle on the voice and maneurisms of Superman/Clark. He echoes Reeves in tone, and I think it works.

As for Spacey... perfect Lex. Probably the best choice they could have gone with. From what was shown, I think this will be the best Lex representation yet....

Posting purely in a non-sideshow capacity here...

But what the heck is the deal with putting a kid in the movie? I mean - come on! *whimpers*

Everyone knows the way you ruin a movie is put in a 'kid-centric' plot.

But hey - who knows, maybe this one will be different. I'll go see it for sure..:)

I haven't read the script, but I don't get that the kid's that central. And Lois Lane with a child is something we've never seen before. I think he's there just to hit home to Clark just how far Lois has moved on from her crush on Superman.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the kid will die early in the flick...:monkey2

Sorry bout that Chris but SSC does distribute Hot Toys and Medicom product and some of us were wondering/hoping you might be carrying the Superman Returns line ala Spider-Man so I thought it was cool in the gang.

And what is with that kid?!The only kid I want to see is superkid lifting a truck, again!

Betcha the kid turns out to be Superman's. They did get it on in part 2 and this is a sequel.

Not totaly sold on Routh, but I have faith in Singer's direction. Spacey is a good pic and suprised they kept to the kinda silly Lex from the originals.

Yeah, the kid is definitely Lois' kid, I forgot about that, not knowing anything about the plot...

and it could be Supes kid but I'm not so sure that it will be in this first sequel in so long, don't know if that's what they want for this movie. It's a bit out of left field if you know what I mean and instead of focusing on Supes we'll be thinking about the new superkid, We'll see...

So, this is basically a sequel from the Christopher Reeves' Superman?

Are you referring to Clark or Lois?

Nope, I'm referring to the kid, not superman as a kid.

GUESSING THE PLOT SPOILER WARNING

I was referring to how the trailer implies that a big part of the plot is Lois and her kid get kidnapped by Lex and Superman needs to save them.

In general, I'm not a fan of the 'save the kid and mom' plot - seems like that has been done quite often through the years.

Like I said, I'll go see it either way.

I don't think a direct sequel, but 1 and 2 are used at the backdrop to this. One gapping hole is at the end of part 2, Superman tells the President that he will never leave us again, yet in the new movie he has been away for a few years

Totally Agree, don't really want to see a kidnapping flick but hopefully this will be a late second act plot point and the movie isn't entirely wrapped around it.

But I'll see it opening day anyway.

It's really cool to see Superman do his thing using the best modern visual effects money can buy.

One thing worries me though. Routh sure looks the part, but they never really let him talk in any of the trailers. In this one, most of his lines are off screen or else they are quick, one line zingers. Is his acting so off they feel they have to hide it?

Casting an unknown was a great idea, but I hope his performance is up to speed. He'll need to connect with the audience to make this film a huge success.

Looks pretty cool. Love the opening Antartica shot! I just don't understand why they didn't start over like they did with the Batman movies. I still don't understand what the big deal is with the original Superman movies. I was listening to Dr. Laura yesterday and she mentioned the Superman "flies around the world to reverse time thing " which made me laugh.

I also think this guy looks more like a Superboy than a Superman. I think the logo shield design and the colors they're using are real boss.
