I'm looking forward to this, and I'm a George Reeves fan, so to my elderly eyes Routh REALLY looks like a kid. Heck, when the first film came out I thought Chris Reeve looked a bit young. And while he made a fine Superman, his Clark was a total dork. Having just acquired the Season 1 boxed set of the TV show, I'm understanding what a great job George did. His Clark was a fairly competent person in his own right, entirely believable as a serious reporter. Even my wife agrees that George's Clark is a much more 'real' person than Chris', and she sees Chris as Superman( she's a bit younger than me).

That was the great thing about George Reeves' version of Superman, you could actually see him having a life outside of being Superman. He was Clark, and he became Superman when necessary. With Christopher Reeve, he was Superman and Clark was his disguise which in hindsight makes his Superman seem a bit more aloof, almost condescending.

Clark was his disguise
This is one of the great things about the Byrne Superman reboot of the '80s. Clark was the person and Superman was the disguise. Considering how he was raised this made far more sense. I liked Lois & Clark (and Smallville) for this reason and it was one of the main reasons I was disappointed that Singer went back to the Reeve movies for guidance. While I love the films, I hated that Clark was such a dork, no wonder Lois won't give him the time of day.

RE: the kid in the trailer, I have some news but if you don't want to know

Skip this... SPOILER ALERT:

Ok if you want to know

I read an early review on AICN, a site I deplore but there was an early review posted from someone who actually screened the film and it had tons of spoilers but apparently

THE KID IN THE TRAILER, LOIS' SON, IS SUPERMAN'S KID.

Personally, I don't like this element in this film however

THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE IS NOT KIDCENTRIC as earlier feared.
