First impressions are a powerful thing. They blew the "big reveal".

That 'Jim Lee'-ish costume was the wrong thing for the studio to put out there as a first look. This newer costume would have a better choice. This looks like something she would wear in a fight. It also looks like it could be believable on screen.

Neither shot is dynamic in any way. Couldn't they have chosen something from an action scene?

There is no right or wrong thing for the studio, I honestly believe they would have been crucified no matter what they released first.

I can tell you this, the main reason they put this photo out was so the Paparazzi swarming the set wouldn't get a shot out first. She hasn't been in a fight on screen yet, that's next week. :wink1:

I can understand that.

Seems a few more shots out of costume were released, I think she looks old hollywood with the dress and the hair here.

:thud::thud: vWe need a frontal shot dammit. My god she is busting out so nice.

That's certainly easier than having to decide whether the product is worth a damn or not. Myself, I think if what they showed was good, they would have been treated accordingly.

But, they're more concerned with ambassador Wonder Woman than warrior Wonder Woman. They threw out good before they even started concocting vinyl costumes that aren't her costumes.

Frankly, I could care less. Watch it, don't watch it, free will.

And I could not care less that you're ambivalent. Whether I watch or not is irrelevant, as regards the quality of the show. All that matters is whether Diana will be portrayed according to the best that the character has to offer.

No, what matters is how well this show is recieved, and how well that critical reception translates into ratings.
The costume looks laughable, and the attitude of "watch it, dont watch it, free will" isnt exactly endearing me to this show. No one ever made a cent by telling people not to buy thier product.

I will watch the first few episodes. I would have missed out on BSG if I had gone off what was said before the show launched.

But two important criteria for me are going to be the show's tone and it's respect for source material.

I lost patience for "Smallville" because it seemed to me they thought Superman was a flawed concept. "No flights, no tights" is a telling statement to me. It says Superman is silly and the only way to make him work is to hide part of the character.

Wonder Woman has never been written as a career driven woman who does hero stuff on the side. It wouldn't make sense to me if that how it's approached. She came from an island where she could have any comfort she wanted, so why would she want to be rich? All she has to do is fly home.

She is, first and foremost, the amazon's Champion. She won that title in a contest against her mother's wishes. She went to the outside world to guide us out of our childish war-mongering ways before the rest of the amazons choose to give us a slap down. She is usually portrayed as a stranger in a strange land. She is a hero with a noble heart yet will not back down from fighting (or taking a life). It's a profound difference from Batman or Superman.

I need to see that or I won't be a long term viewer.

I think Lynda is a once in a lifetime kinda actress in the old WW role, I think it would have been a mistake to emulate her, I'm glad they went the way they did.

Evan

You really want a Wonder Woman with moles all over her face, unathletic and looks like tranny cosplayer?

:lol

I need to see that or I won't be a long term viewer.

Same here. Anything less will be a joke at the expense of the idea of such a woman, which I consider blasphemy. I realize most people have much different ideas of what should be held sacred, but I could give a damn about what other people consider holy if they have the gall to cheapen Wonder Woman.

Also, I've never watched Smallville, and never will.

For all the hand wringing and complaining about Smallville, the show lasted 10 seasons, made a ton of money and got some actors noticed. I know you have not watched it but plenty have and I just watch it with the knowledge that this is just a superman story, there are plenty of other ones if I don't like it.

I think they would be pretty happy if WW ran half those seasons that Smallville has managed.

I understand a lot of folks, WW fans, won't like the new show and I have no issues with that, I personally would like to see the show before I pass any major opinions.

I'm just drawing lines in the sand. Maybe they'll get it right. I have little faith in the mass market though, so if money is what they're after, I expect my lines to be crossed.

The frustrating thing is that The Walking Dead has blown the roof off of everything, yet producers still insist on diluting superheroes for the mainstream. Why not tell intense, epic stories and get rich on that? Is TWD's audience really that small?

There's one simple reason Smallville has run 10 seasons. It's the CW's only show. It's the biggest fish in a very small pond.

I keep hearing that Adrianne has bad implants and Erica Durance has implants as well, is there any actual proof?

check out this link: https://www.awfulplasticsurgery.com/breast-implants/ (may not be safe for work)

when it looks like a doctor cut a softball in half and stuck it under the skin, that's a good sign of an implant.(also the huge gap between implants is a sign of bad implants. most women in Hollywood have them. and done right it can look very nice....and "natural" (christina hendricks). that's not the case here.
