yeah that lurtz is insane. i'd be surprised if a manufactured version could come close. deckard sounds pretty sweet! definitely a popular choice. and one that we are not likely to EVER get from any official companies. can't wait to see what it turns out like, especially with the new harrison ford sculpt shawn mentioned.

haven't read thru all this but i'd vote for either that INCREDIBLE Lurtz that Shawn did or his Crow, but i guess it's looking more like a Newt or Deckard. Shawn do u still have your website to order from? if so, linky:D

i am with you dude...but good luck getting a response...its been deckard high jacked:emperor

There was a lot of dissention, almost rivaling that of Andgor regarding him. Issues involving customer service, long delays with no contact or explanation, no replies to emails or IM's. I personally contacted him for a Batman: Dead End 2 piece het set that my son and I were going to work on together and waited what seemed like an eternity after paying [it was actually just several months]. When I finally received it, it was nothing like the first one I had gotten from him and was actually unuseable.
I am unfamiliar with his group work here on the Freaks site, and having found this thread a little while back thought maybe he was using this forum to redeem himself and get back on track. Other than that .....

Just in case it doesn't reappear, Shawn responded to this. But now for some reason it and some other posts have dissapeared.

And for the record I had a recent transaction with Shawn for a Keaton Batman (as part of the Freaks thread) and couldn't be happier.

he was cool with the latest keaton batman....you are right about the emails tho...I sent a few asking about other pieces and I never got any responses....i just chaulked it up to ..he either did not want to sell or just plain busy...shawn seems like a stand up guy..never gave any reasons yet to think different

I've posted the response three times:confused: Twice here, they've both disappeared. I even started a new thread for it and that's gone, too. I even PM'ed the response to Nick, but it's not showing up in my sent box, along with a few other PM's I sent. Anyway, I'll try to recount what I said in that response:

Nick,
I'm sorry that I lost track of you like that. Over the nearly 8 years I've been working as a freelance artist I'm sure I've misplaced a couple of people. I don't have an answer that would likely be satisfying except to say I'm only human and I do make mistakes. Everyone does. Ocassionally something or someone slips through the cracks and you end up with an extra figure or a head or something and you think, "where the hell was this supposed to go?" I constantly have a heavy workload, a lot of people to keep straight for my little one man operation. And when I'm bouncing between forums and email, dealing with forum names and sometimes multiple email accounts I sometimes end up dealing with people under three or so sets of contact info. I've NEVER set out to intentionally defraud anyone, but I can't say I don't get confused sometimes or paint myself into a corner with my poor accounting skills. I've always been a pretty solid artist, but the business end of this thing and how to manage workloads is something I've had to learn the hard way. Again, apologies for being human.

Please contact me at [email protected] so we can get this thing sorted out.

Shawn K.

Shawn, I received and responded to your PM but the way things were going yesterday I don't know if the reply went thru. Your original PM vanished.

The board had a hiccup yesterday and we lost about 7 hours of posts and PMs. There are a number of other threads around explaining it.

I edited Nick's original post, but Shawn has responded politely, so I'll leave the quotes.

Hey guys, so i was looking through the forum and came upon this thread. Well i had to be a wet blanket but i like DoubleDAre have been cheated by Shawn of Sovereign studios as well.

A couple of months ago, i won an Indiana Jones figure from him on ebay. At the beginning communications were all good . Weeks went by and the figure never arrived. So i emailed him and apparently Shawn or his wife said that they had forgotten to post the figure out to me. After emailling them they said that the figure had finally been posted out to me. I waited several more weeks and the figure never materialised. Shawn said perhaps the figure had been lost in the mail and he'd make another for me. Soon after, he stopped replying to my queries on the status of the figure and up until today this figure still has not arrived.

It really annoys me that he could reply to the group here yet not reply to the mails i have sent him. Guys here have said that Shawn can be a little slow and so i should give him time. Its been 6 months to a year and PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE yet nothing has materialised.

Shawn, I read your previous reply here and I can understand it if there were hiccups. Now I just hope you'd be willing to sort this issue out as well.

Jediguy,
Send me your eBay info. I see you're in Singapore. That figure definately shipped. I'll sort this out. And yes I did end up shipping out TWO of them. I'm not a retailer with a shelf full of these things, so it concerns me as much as you. I make every last piece of my figures from scratch, by hand, by myself. This will be the second replacement I've had to send. I know you feel cheated, you paid $150.00. From my end that $150.00 sale will end up costing me $300.00 plus international shipping. My point there is that if that's what I need to do to make sure you get what you paid for, that's what I'll do.

I don't mean to sound like I'm being hard on you. This isn't at all your fault. But I finally calmed down enough from Nick's post to glance over some of that stuff at the OSW. I have to say I'm kind of irritated. As I said in my last reply I'm human and I make mistakes. It's not some grand conspiracy to rip people off systematically. I don't know why that's always the first assumption for a lot of people And not just with me, I see it a lot. Something goes wrong with a transaction and automatically it must have been intentional. All businesses, big and small, screw up now and then. If I do, I'm always eager to work it out. Even if it ends up costing me. Looks like I can clear up the deal with IronMan over the Batman head. Turned out to be mostly a misunderstanding about how I make the heads.

Sorry to vent like that. But I've learned when you're called out publicly it's best to respond publicly.

And Nick, if you read this get back to me please. I've responded on the board and sent you a PM. I've been thinking a lot about your order and the communication. I don't remember you ever getting angry or accusing me of anything or expressing concerns. As best I can recall we were discussing a few options for your figure; boot choices and such. I think I was working on a new head sculpt you wanted to see, etc. It seems to me that our discussions wound down and we just sort of lost touch. You're clearly very upset over it, and I understand that completely. I'm not sure why you guys would sit on it all this time without contacting me again before you just fired off at me. It really saddens me to think some people seem to think I'm just sitting here, taking their money and laughing at them. I would truly hope that all of the work I've done over the years and all of the satisfied clients I have would buy me a little more benefit of the doubt than that. Nick, You had no problem jumping in here to call me everything you could think of. I would hope you want to resolve this and finally get your figure as quickly. If you came here to resolve our issues, cool. If you just dropped in to slap me in the face and walk away, that's immature.

Shawn K.
