I have to admire Slade. I thought I was the only one to routinely and proudly crap on mainstream stuff. Though I DO love the "Pirates" franchise, I won't disagree that Disney is a giant turd.

I do really like Underworld, though. But I didn't really appreciate it until seeing all the DVD bonus stuff. I really admire the fact that they used little to no CGI and it looks far better than most modern movies. I've always really loved werewolves, too. Alot of people think of it as Blade Light. Personally, I hate the Blade franchise:monkey3 Especially the first one. Vampires can walk in the sun if they just dab on a bit of Tropicana?? WOW! Really?? Crap. The second Blade was just thinly disguised retelling of Frankenstein, and the third one just plain sucked. Even most Blade fans agree with that. And who the hell made up the rule that becoming a vampire automatically makes you a black belt? Seriously, whose fault is that?

Sorry for the rant there:eek: I've just spent too many years defending Underworld, I guess.

I had a buddy in college that would argue that 5th Element was the end-all-be-all of sci-fi movies. Now, I love sci-fi, Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, and Mila's hotness--but that film is the biggest rip-off of every movie ever made. Ian Holm looks and acts like Obi-Wan and the whole city is copied from Scott's vision of LA in Blade Runner. That bleached tuft on hair on Willis? Ew. Oldman's hair piece/head plate? Yuck. Chris Tucker all femmed-out? I just threw up in my mouth. Luke Perry? Well, good for him. But completely dreadful. And I think that film's formula is similar to many, many other crappy genre films that came after.

And I don't think Underworld was that bad--it's watchable. But Selene is not really someone I'm interested in as a 1/6 figure.

i don't know man. for that real orangey tan look i think i'm gonna try tropicana from now on. thanks shawn! you really are full of good ideas!

I know this is fodder for a derailment of this thread but Ian Holm didn't look or act anything like Obi-Wan. :lol Ok, maybe a slight resemblense due to the beard but come on.

And for further derailment, I've never actually seen 5th Element... but feel I should just so I can know.

LOVE Fifth Element. Thought it was a HOOT. Metal Hurlant Mag in live form!
LOVE Underworld.

Any figures from above would be welcome. Especially that huge black guy as a werewolf!)

Any news/pics of Deckard? What are your plans for a Selene? Clothing plans that is?
I have many questions....I am curious. :D

And I want a Selene. :rock

There is a lot of BR talk on this forum and other with many people getting in the mood with the anniversary. I want a Deckard sooner than later while I still could possibly afford it......:D

Re: Next Sovereign Custom Freaks Group Rate Fig? NEW PHOTOS ADDED

Hey guys. OK, here's the first batch. With regards to Deckard, I'e actually ended up with THREE Indy heads I like. Only ONE will be converted into Deckard, so I guess I'm sort of taking votes.

The one with his hat is the head I've been using for a year or so. It's the same one from my Indy photos, but those shots had some weird angles that I think made his face look a bit goofy.

The side-by-side are the two I've just finished. They're the same basic sculpt (same to each other, no relation to the sculpt with the hat) with a few variations.

All of the clothing patterns for Deckard are done. I have the pistol on its way to me from a friend. He's sending me the metal version, which he says is the best of what's out there.

I've worked out accessories for the figure, also. He will have two heads; one regular and one bloody and rain-soaked. He will also have interchangable right hands, one with his two broken fingers wrapped together. I'm hoping to have a completed figure by mid February, so stay tuned for that.

Next is one I KNOW you've been waiting for:emperor Here's the "V" sculpt. His hair will be cast in rubber. And I may do a second interchangable hair sculpt with the hair in motion to compliment action poses.

I wish I had more to show but having found a few really good, well-lit shots of the guy I realize how horribly off my prototype is. Stay tuned.

Here's a few Michael Myers (modern version) pics. This one is really shaping up to be something I'm really proud of. Ignore the blue coveralls, I just thought it would look better than a nude body.

Fistfulmetal,
Thanks for the suggestions, I like those. Finding good kid bodies is a freakin' nightmare. Especially for Chunk, I would imagine. I already offer a Crow figure. There are photos posted somewhere near the beginning of this thread, I think.
