Mine's bigger.
I have to admire Slade. I thought I was the only one to routinely and proudly crap on mainstream stuff. Though I DO love the "Pirates" franchise, I won't disagree that Disney is a giant turd.
I do really like Underworld, though. But I didn't really appreciate it until seeing all the DVD bonus stuff. I really admire the fact that they used little to no CGI and it looks far better than most modern movies. I've always really loved werewolves, too. Alot of people think of it as Blade Light. Personally, I hate the Blade franchise Especially the first one. Vampires can walk in the sun if they just dab on a bit of Tropicana?? WOW! Really?? Crap. The second Blade was just thinly disguised retelling of Frankenstein, and the third one just plain sucked. Even most Blade fans agree with that. And who the hell made up the rule that becoming a vampire automatically makes you a black belt? Seriously, whose fault is that?
Sorry for the rant there I've just spent too many years defending Underworld, I guess.
I had a buddy in college that would argue that 5th Element was the end-all-be-all of sci-fi movies. Now, I love sci-fi, Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, and Mila's hotness--but that film is the biggest rip-off of every movie ever made. Ian Holm looks and acts like Obi-Wan and the whole city is copied from Scott's vision of LA in Blade Runner. That bleached tuft on hair on Willis? Ew. Oldman's hair piece/head plate? Yuck. Chris Tucker all femmed-out? I just threw up in my mouth. Luke Perry? Well, good for him. But completely dreadful. And I think that film's formula is similar to many, many other crappy genre films that came after.
And I don't think Underworld was that bad--it's watchable. But Selene is not really someone I'm interested in as a 1/6 figure.
