A friend sent these from Hong Kong.

So in China superhero movies are more popular than Star Wars? I watched BVS and was not at all impressed and I really wanted to like it since I am a big Batman fan (the only superhero I really like) and to be fair was one of the few positive aspects from a disappointing movie. It sucks that us Star Wars fans have to endure these superhero figures now in the next couple of months with Civil War coming soon. I WANT BOUNTY HUNTERS!!

That is NOT a BvS display taking up the entire center point of a shopping mall.

You cannot tell me China/Hong Kong does not like Star Wars, they certainly helped propel TFA to the record breaking take it made. I could see the Chinese Govt. not loving the property as it has the theme of overthrowing evil overlords and what not but the general populace can see the influences of their own culture in Jedi and the Force.

Budget stark posted an updated hot toys calendar, if you are a star wars fan it really sucks. Nothing but civil war and bvs the rest of 2016. At least I'll save money this year, rey/bb8 are all I have left after boba.

This.

He is also an advocate of the "China isn't that 'in' to Star Wars" idea -- whether you like that or not.

Thank god. The last 12 months have been brutal.

Would you mind telling me where I can find it?

Yeah for Star Wars you have Leia, TFA Flame Trooper, Rei w/ BB8 and Finn w/ Shock Trooper. Other than possibly the Alien Warrior and Terminator Endoskeleton those are the only things I am interested in on that list.

I guess I will have a chance to catch up on Asmus/3Zero/other manufacturers and maybe look at whether or not I want any of the other TFA releases.

I thought for sure we would see at least a tease of something from Rogue One. Even though it says "complete" I wonder what the chances are that there will be additional releases as this is only the stuff that has actually been announced so far.

Even if anything star wars related is announced I doubt it has a chance of seeing the light of day this year except maybe stormie han. Even that would probably be early 2017 at this point. There are seemingly no quick turnarounds, leia was slated to have a relatively short window from announcement to release and look what's happened there.

pressure from Disney/LFL is off. That is what accelerated the huge deluge we got before TFA opened. Good luck ever seeing that again. I wish we could say we will benefit from longer design/production cycles but now that the bar has been set where it has and the price point received we may be out of luck.

Those are just figures that have been announced though. I'd bet just about anything that we see a few Rogue One announcements late this year and if have anything really iconic or cool looking, we might even get a couple rushed out close to the movies released(similar to how Kylo Ren dropped in Hong Kong around the movie's release date).

I find it hard to believe Hot Toys won't have any new Star Wars figures displayed at the Sideshow booth at SDCC. I am just hopeful they announce something 1/6 before then.

And no Suicide Squad figures? I find that hard to believe.

No Suicide Squad at SDCC? It'll be the centrepiece like Guardians was in 2014.

What are you guys talking about? :lol

That is a release schedule of current figures on pre-order. It is in no way an indication of what Hot Toys has planned for future events like SDCC or future figures like Suicide Squad or Star Wars. That list literally means release dates....

It's the star wars celebration in London in July. I reckon that will be when we first see a rogue one trailer and the hype for that will begin. I also reckon it will be a great place to showcase a new figure or 2 :)
