Its possible that just like Crumb's creature pack was created and solicited as a companion to a standard figure announcement that we could have another standard figure announcement along side Bubo. If that's the case expect someone who was in Jabba's Palace at the same time.....although I wouldn't hold your breath for Boba Fett.

They're not going to announce Boba Fett on some random Thursday in January when Toy Fair is just around the corner. (And I still think that they will save a major reveal like that for SDCC anyway.)

I think that based on the Jabba box pictures from the blog, Bubo is the next announcement. In fact, by showing us that picture in the blog on their site, they have already announced him. Tonight is the official preview.

In fact, if Bubo isn't "announced" tonight, I will buy one of whatever is announced for everybody!!

You make a goode case. It could probably be Chewie....or Oola. Oola would look nice along with the Jabba display. Oola won't get made right now for the same reasons that Slave Leia or Aayla Secura won't get made right now, SSC is not happy with their female bodies as of yet. Chewbacca isn't really a possibility because they've stated they are unsure of what to do with the fur issue, not to mention even the "Big Boy" I don't think is tall enough...A Jawa 2 pack might be nice, Amanaman but he'd probably be done in the same fashion as Crumb with limited articulation......

Bubo is NOT an announcement. The more I think about it, the more angry at SS I am getting if that's it. We have not had a "major" announcement in how many months? The Endor troops and Ventress are not "major". Plo Koon ( as much as I like him ) was not "major".

If they kick the year off with Bubo as an "announcment" I am going to be ticked off. Guess I should get ready to be ticked.

I understand your growing impatience with the lack of A-list Star Wars announcements. I think the SW universe is so diverse though, that I wouldn't be surprised if we got one heavy hitter for each 3-4 random character, jedi, alien, whatever.

Assuming that they do have a main character ready, we know that they also have Bubo ready. So here are their choices:

1. Delay the official announcement of Bubo (which we already know about) until Toy Fair and reveal a main character on January 11th, then reveal Bubo during the media blitz, fan frenzy, and publicity heavy madness of Toy Fair.

2. Give us Bubo now so we have something to tide us over for a few weeks until the eyes of the industry are on Toy Fair, and then give us a main character announcement while websites everywhere are overflowing with reports and pictures of the latest news, and while all of the Sideshow fans are glued to their computers watching the announcements pile up and talking about it in the official Sideshow 24 hour live chat in between winning contests and posting about it all on the Freaks board during peak levels of online user activity.

I will tell you what I would choose if the decision were up to me...




While I share your impatience, Sideshow definitely has a strategy with this line--and revealing a main character tonight because some of us are in a hurry doesn't fit with that strategy.

I'm a bit surprised that we haven't had any major OT characters announced in such a long time. But remember, people were loving the Asajj announcement. And the Troops are what they are. They're not for everyone but it was a start to the military line. I fully expect the Bubo pack to be announced tonight and I have no idea if I'll be getting it or not. I barely remember him from the movies and I wasn't about to miss him before we found out he was coming.

I hear ya, Bubo seems like an accessory, not a figure unto himself. I wouldn't be surprised though if we got something like a Lando or Fett or whomever, followed by Weequay, Lott Dodd, and Imperial Officer before getting another big gun.

I don't feel that it should fit my wants only. I am saying Bubo is not a character. To me, calling Bubo a character is like calling Chewie's crossbow a character by itself. It's just my opinion.

I don't collect or have much interest in this line, but given that this was the year of ROTJ I guess it somewhat makes sense. I would imagine a Skiff Lando is soon approaching.

If you seperate Bubo (man I feel wierd typing that) and isolate him as his own figure, it is one of the most unconventional things I have ever heard; given the picture as a whole it fits (though perhaps still loosely). SS just happens to be focusing on ROTJ right now - expect more obscure "fillers" when they go to the other films as well.

I am sure however that the vast majority of collectors are after the "bigguns" and this would undoubtedly disappoint them.

Ok he's not a character to you. That does not make it a bad announcement though.

I am acting like a child? I understand that 100% of the time SS is 100% perfect in your opinion. That's fine. I don't have any real problem with SS either and I love the SW line.

Am I literally going to stomp me feet? No. Am I going to call SS to complain? No. Do I have the right to voice my opinion that this is a disappointing announcement? Yes.

It may not be a bad announcement to you and that's fine. To me, it's a pretty poor announcement to kick off the new year.
