Let's just let it drop dude. It's just my opinion that Bubo is a pathetic announcement since we have been waiting so long for one. Also because it's the first one in 2007. Yeah, if it's Bubo I will be annoyed about it as I was hoping for something that had more than 2 seconds of screen time.

I already said I was not literally going to stomp my feet or throw a fit or call SS to complain. I was just hoping for an actual character.

I agree Bubo isn't exactly the most exciting announcement they could make but I would not be shocked if he wasn't announced with something else tonight or here shortly.

You're missing my point though so I agree best to drop it. It was never meant a literal translation of what you said. Just that there's no reason to get that annoyed over an announcement. Just have fun with it.

Well, now that I actually know who Bubo is I will say emphatically that if this is what SS announces tonight as their next release in the Star Wars line it is L-A-M-E!!! Who the hell, other than the most extreme of completists, would even care about this particular character? As I said in an earlier post, I'm a pretty hardcore fan(have been ever since I saw the original film theatrically in 1977) and thought I knew basically everything about the SW universe, but even I didn't know who Bubo was. If anything, this is the type of thing they should've included in the Jabba expansion pack. It's certainly not a character that warrants its' own release and prevents another figure(one that people would actually care about) from being released. Just my opinion and I hope I'm not automatically classified as a "spoiled child" for thinking that way.

First off I don't classify someone as a spoild child just because they dont agree with a item being made. It's all in the delivery. You made valid well constructe argurment why it's not your cup of tea. I sure as hell can't fault you for that.

While Bubo isn't exactly the most interesting announcement its definitely a key announcement. It means that SSC is more than willing to continue supporting the various environments as they come. Think about the implications here, first we got Luke, with a pistol as an exclusive that didn't seem to fit...cool but not necessary. Then we were hit with the Jabba blitz making everything clear, Bubo is just a continuation on this. This makes me think while the Endor Strike Force Bundle weren't the hits that some were expecting to me it seems like an Endor Environment might be on its way with its own big cast members (Scout Troopers, Ewoks, Endor Han, Leia or Luke) that might be as equally impressive. I hope the Death Star is given the same treatment. It'd be great to get the opening scene of ANH done up nicely...

It would be pretty sad , IMHO if Sideshow launched the 30th Anniversary of one the most successful movie franchises in history...with Bubo. I didn't know who this guy was until this thread! Not the best marketing move, but again it's my opinion.

Last year they started the line off with Jedi Luke. I have written on these boards many, many times, that I STILL believe this years line will kickoff with ANH Luke.

Actually, if I read correctly, I think you made this point earlier as well, Seward -- that it reads "figure" not "pack".

I do hope it is a real figure... or at least a figure with Bubo. But as I read these posts I do believe Bubo and whatever he comes with (obviously lower than Bubo if he gets top billing) must be part of a larger whole and therefore it might be announced at ToyFair along with a slew of new Jabba's Court characters. Who knows who -- Ree-Yees makes sense, personally I'd like Amanaman (just for the skull staff) or a Gamorrean Guard. Anyway, that's for another thread.

I guess we will gind find out tonight what the new figure will be. It would be cool for it to be Bubo creature pack along with a regular 12" too. There are quite a few aliens that could use the base body.

I still bet that bubo will sell out fast if its just himself I just hope the exclusive doesnt have a really low number because i could see the Hoover being the exclusive.

Who said the first offering of the year had to start with ANH? ANH isnt actually 30 until May.

Yeah but the overarchine series from Sideshow is the Star Wars 12" line and anything Star Wars related could be the next announcment. It doesn't matter if its an articulated figure, environment or pack... they would all fall under that category since they are all part of the 12" Line.

Although IMO this would be less confusing if they just called it the Star Wars 1/6 since thats what it really is.

If tonights announcement is the Bubo pack, I'm not gonna be doing backflips for joy... but at the same time its not a big dissapointment. I think the pace of releases is pretty good at this point... and since I collect a lot of other stuff a break is always a good thing

And the argument that we are not getting a more worthy character does not seem like a valid one since Sideshow will be holding onto this license for a long time. This should mean all our favorites and a decent amount of oddballs will get made!

Although they still previewed the Endor Troopers after SWI spilled the beans... also not all the Sideshow customers are crazy enough to post on a board like we do
