anyone take a look at the eson power rakings and wonder why Broncos are behind three teams that are 3-1 when Broncos have allowed the fewest points through four games and the best rush defense? i wouldnt be so mad if they put them last of the unbeaten teams, oh well patriots will see that defense first hand this sunday

I never take the power rankings seriously unless the Steelers are #1.

How the Jets are higher than the Pats at this point boggles me. What a stupid ranking system. And the Saints beat the Jets (who were ranked #6 and are now ranked higher after a loss somehow), yet the Vikings, who last week were lower than the Saints and beat the formerly #10 ranked Packers are ahead of the Saints??? Retarded.

Well to be fair. They have played three of the worst offenses in the leauge. Possibly four, but the jury is still out on Dallas.

How is Pitt playing Detroit this week, I thought the superbowl winner gets the toughest schedule, and Detroit had zero wins.

Same with the Giants, there playing Oakland, the already played KC & T.B., easy schedule so far.

The way the (edit - not schedule...opponents) are determined -

6 games are played against the other three teams in the division...two each...one at home and one away.

4 games are played against one other division in the conference each year on rotation...i.e. The ACF North will play all 4 teams in the AFC South one year, East the next year, and West the next year and then the rotation starts over. 2 are played at home and 2 away...chosen randomly.

4 games are played against one division in the other conference each year on rotation...i.e. The ACF North will play all 4 teams in the NFC South one year, East the next year, West the next year and North the next year and then the rotation starts over. Again 2 at home and 2 away...chosen at random.

the final 2 games are played against the 2 teams freom the same conference that ended the previous season in the same divisional position as the team in question, but that are not in the rotated division.

For example the Steelers this year are playing the 3 other team in their division twice each as they will every year. And this year they are playing the 4 teams in the AFC West, the 4 teams in the NFC North, and They play the Dolphins and the Titans because they were division champs as the Steelers were last year.

Edit 2 - I am not sure the order of rotation for the rotated division games...but it has the effect of each team play each of the other divisions in their conference once every three years, and each division of the other conference once every 4 years.

And I wish the home.away decisions wre on a rotating basis as well because the Steelers have played San Diego at Pittsburgh like the last 3 or 4 times...and I want them to play in SD so I can go to the game!

I am desparately hoping the Rush Limbaugh succeeds in his bid to buy part of the Rams.

Then I won't have to share Steeler fandom in common with him any more.

5-0 the Vikes should be next week against the RAMS.

Then it gets tough,
Baltimore (at home)
At PITT.
At GB
3 tough ones in a row.

In the NFC right now it looks like the best teams would be

Giants
Saints
Vikings.

The Saints look just ^^^^ing dangerous to me. I am happy for them though, they've sucked far too long.

i would put the NFC best teams like this

Saints
Vikings
Giants/Eagles

Saints have a defense that can score points with an explosive offense. deadly combination right there. from the AFC i think the best teams are:

Ravens (defense and now offense:horror)
Broncos (only 26 points from opposing teams, thats quite a feet)
Colts(3-8 combined record from the teams they beat)
Patriots(there offense is finally coming together)
Steelers(there defense needs to stop giving up those huge leads in the 4th)

Thanks for the top ranking in the N.F.C. for the New Orleans Saints! I'm a HUGE life-long Saints fan, and appreciate it! :D

Yeah, we now truly have a SOLID team! :banana On both sides of the ball. Offense with a humble, and incredibly talented quarterback in Drew Brees. He has a arsenal of choices with wide receivers Marcus Colston, Devery Henderson, Robert Meacham, and Lance Moore. Powerful running backs like Mike Bell, Pierre Thomas, and Reggie Bush. A defense that CAN and DOES score points led by guys like Will Smith, Charles Grant, Darren Sharper, Roman Harper (who is on FIRE now with 5 interceptions!). Our special teams is doing great too with creating and recovering fumbles, and staying on top of punt and kick returns for the most part.

It's a great time to be a Saints fan! We're 4-0, and showing no sign of letting up! :D

The Saints are gonna blow it soon. Sadly, they always do. I've watched them far too long to delude myself into thinking their success will last. We'll probably lose 6 straight toward the end of the season and miss the playoffs.

i have always thought the Chargers made a mistake when they let go of Brees, and i truly believe Brees will lead the Saints to a superbowl(not win just take them there)

im a life long Broncos fan so and it just killed me when the Broncos defense last year let the Chargers into the playoffs, but now our defense is better than ever since we have Dawkins leading that defense. ima be extremely happy when the Broncos beat the patriots this sunday and all the analyst finally acknowledge the Broncos are for real this year

What do you guys think about Crabtree? Apparently he finally has agreed to a 6 year deal with the 49rs. My opinion is that he didn't want to sign with a crappy team. He noticed they have been playing well and decided to jump on the bandwagon. :lecture
