Washington will NOT play RGIII, unless Cousins and McCoy both get injured, and even then, they may pick up some journeyman to play before RGIII. Why? If he's injured, the $16 million salary for RGIII's next season is FULLY GUARANTEED in case of injury. Given RGIII's history and penchant for injuries, they won't put him on the field at all this year. Business decision. Should they finally decide to pull the trigger and cut him, they don't have to pay him the $16 million.
They are just waiting until the end of the year so they don't have to worry about facing him this year.

Who do you think is going to sign him? The Eagles?

So is RGIII :lol

The Redskins would be better pulling a random fan out of the bleachers

RGIII is not garbage.... its just that he was always in a terrible system with a terrible offensive line with terrible coaches making terrible calls.

I think he is better than Cousins. His rookie year was great, 2013 was a drop off, and 2014 was terrible because of that idiot Gruden. Even then, he has outplayed Cousins every year.

That is from 2014 when idiot Gruden took over, everything was terrible.

If 2012 rookie RGIII with any knowledge he may have gained over the last few years ever came back... he can lead a team to the playoffs.

Well it's illustrative of the terrible decision making RG3 has exhibited on the field. You can't attribute all of that to coaches. And to couple his terrible attitude and public behavior with that, it's not hard to see why coaches wouldn't want him on their team.

He has regressed. I know that. I just do not understand why the player you mortgage your future for.... is not playing to better himself and eventual better the franchise. Cousins is getting no better, at least with RGIII.... at one time.... was a proven commodity who could go out there and win big games.

That's the problem. 2012 RGIII relied on his speed and athleticism to make plays when he couldn't read the defense. The Shanahans installed an offense specifically designed for him. His injuries have robbed him of that. He then decided he wanted to be a pocket passer...but doesn't have the skills or discipline to become one.

I live in the DC area and the media covers RGIII ad nauseum. There's a reason he's sometimes referred to as "RGMe". I can't find the link now, but there was article in the Washington Post that stated in the season opener, though he was inactive for the game, RGIII sprinted out of the tunnel ahead of the team, ran to the logo on midfield, and kneeled, essentially "Tebowing". Why bring attention to yourself, especially if you're not playing?

To your point, though, Jay Gruden is a terrible head coach.

If you think RG3 should be starting let me ask this why aren't any of his teammates coming out to support him as a starter? Oh thats right because none of those teammates have faith in him as a starter.

Early game thoughts....

Cowboys will lose at least five straight games, that D can not carry them. Falcons offense looking real good.... are they back???

Mariota gave the Colts the game... literally just handed it to them. Colts should have lost that game. They have a tough middle stretch... they might go 8-8 if they keep this up....

Raiders win and Browns lose. Nobody cares.

Great game between the Bengals and Ravens, glad the Baltimore Bums lost. Bengals actually showed some heart and fight to get back into that game. With Big Ben down... Bengals could easily run away with the North.

Patriots scored on every possession. Brady threw for #400. Best team in the league. Pats are favorites in every game, after the performances of some... 16-0 looking like a real possibility.

Sad Panthers struggled that much against the Saints without Brees playing.

I am surprised the Eagles won, really thought the Jets D could stop them.

Texans beat the Bucs.... I lost track of all the missed FGs.

Chargers are pretty bad to lose like that to the Vikings.

Big Ben goes down and Vick with some terrible play calling by the Rams hold on to the win. If Big Ben is out for any extended time Steelers will struggle... unless Vick somehow plays good.

This preview of the Arizona-SF game from the NYT today made me laugh

"...one can almost picture quarterback Carson Palmer holding up the husk of the once-proud San Francisco franchise as the Mortal Kombat video game announcer commands, “Finish him!”"

and the game itself is making me laugh even harder.

This slate of late games has been awful. Arizona seems like they could be legit if Palmer actually lasts the season. Also I wouldn't be shocked if Joe Philbin is the first coach shown the door this year.

Cowboys will lose 5 straight? :rotfl:rotfl

Yeah, they will.

They lost against the Falcons

@Saints - Brees will be back, loss

Patriots - blow out loss

@Giants - Giants won't hand them another win

Seahawks - defense will pick them apart and I will laugh

Bree's might play but being back won't happen. That injury isn't going to be magically better next week. Saints aren't that good and last time I checked they don't have a Julio Jones.

Giants still aren't that good and they can easily lose to Cowboys again.

The other 2 yeah are likely loses but you never know. Remember this morning the Eagles were dead in the water and Jets were doing to destroy them?
