Case Keenum is worse and would have cost nearly as much.

I agree that Keenum wasn't the answer. I'd guess the Vikings' answer to QB is currently the backup in NO.

Facts:

Keenum is making $15M in 2018 and had the Vikings in the NFCCG last year. He has a 5-11 team at 6-7. Meh. Again, he wasn't the long term solution.

Cousins is making $28M, tops in the league, and had the Redskins at 7-9 last year and hopes to reach that (with a 13-3 team) this year.

I said when they signed him that he is a career 8-8 QB.

Unless the Saints fold up and the Bears can get to the 2 seed, that won't happen. *If* the Saints and Rams both lost in the 1st round, then you'd see another team in (example) Chicago possibly.

The Chiefs aren't exactly a "warm weather" team. This weekend's Chargers vs Chiefs game should be awesome.

(Homer hat on) The Saints I actually think could win cold weather, mud ball. The defense has improved all year. They are giving up 12 ppg over the last 5 games. And the Saints have a running game. They are the most versatile team in the league, IMO. They can play the Rams style, and they can play the Cowboys style.
I just mean that the Chiefs, like the Saints and Rams, would struggle if their QB and receivers can't get into a rhythm. But of course, Mahomes is more versatile than Brees or Goff. So I think they could handle themselves better than the others.

Saints can be versatile, but it really varies from week to week. Offensively, it comes down to what's happening "in the trenches." If the O-line gets pushed around, they'll be lucky to win. At times their defense has really stepped up, though. Good example being Sunday in the 2nd half. They have been exceptional at stopping the run this year.

The O-line has been dominate, except the Cowboys game. A few injuries have been a problem, but no team is without them. Not sure what happened there. Just in a funk for some reason.

If the O-line plays up to potential, the Saints will be fine.

Oakland filed suit against the Raiders today. So they will have no home for 2019. Maybe San Diego gets a team for a year?

Good for Oakland. If the team is ditching you then screw them over the best you can.

I am not sure why this game tonight is so big. The Chargers still need help if they win, they can win and nothing will change as far as playoff for both teams.

Why is Oakland not suing the Warriors? They are leaving them with debt too, and no one is using that arena after that.

If the Chargers win it’s not that big a stretch they could get #1. Win out and hope the Chiefs lose @Seattle. I’m sure the NFL would then have nightmares about the AFC title game in a 25K seat soccer stadium.

I recommend the book Big Game that came out a few months ago. Lots of behind the scenes stuff with the owners. When it came to the Chargers in LA one owner called the Spanos family being the guest who got an invitation even though nobody wanted them at the party. Maybe by the time people call them LA, they can be back in SD where they belong.

I agree they should have stayed. That being said winning cures all woes in L.A. The years the Clippers were good suddenly they had lots more fans. The Rams and Chargers will be fine as long as they win. They stop winning and it will be a problem.

Guess the refs decided they wanted to be a big part of the game. Must have gotten the don’t let LA win call.
