I guess that "SixMillionDollarManGuy" did bail out of this thread now that the Vikings have lost. After his last post, it sounds like he's not coming back here.

you guys are runnin your yap too much about it

If you understood what this franchise has gone through over the years and to finally see them make it to the big game, you'd be dancing in the streets too. The Saints can finally say they are no longer one of the few teams that haven't made it to the SuperBowl.

For those tired of hearing fans yelling Who Dat! Too bad! This is our time and we are having fun with it.

GEAUX SAINTS!!

Just for the record...don't include me in that group. I fully understand the Saints' fans' excitement! And it is the Saint's fans that have not spent all year whining about how they know the Saints are going to blow it who are really the only things keeping me from really hoping they lose.

I think those Schleprocks truly owe it to the Saints to step up and post apologies to them right here where they did all the bleeding.

My uncle just e-mailed me this pic from Lafayette, La. :lol

Haha nice.

My Dad just forwarded me this

A new word is being added to the dictionary.

Favred (FAHrv’d), v. To bring one’s team to the brink of victory through brilliant maneuver, but to lose by committing a colossal unforced blunder. Example: The Democrats favred their chances for health care reform when they lost the Massachusetts Senate seat.

Not at all Darth. I'm making a general statement. Because I've heard folks outside this board talk smack against the Saints because they think we are over celebrating.

I don't know what negativity you've heard from Saints fans, but honestly, I haven't heard or read anything negative from anybody. Just folks excited over the win.

I can't talk smack against any team really. I know how hard it was to be a Patriots fan prior to any of the Super Bowl wins. We went through alot of hardships with the franchise and we were one of the jokes in the league for a long, long time much like the Saints.

What is the point of competitive sports if you can't talk a little smack even if you team sucks at the time. :D

No offense, but you can have no idea what it is like to grow up being a fan of this franchise, and frankly have no right to try and dictate fans' expectations for their team. We each have the right to feel precisely how we want to. If you don't like it, that's real sad and all, but who cares? People trying to dictate how people should be fans is getting a little old in this thread, IMO. "You aren't a real Viking fans because X," well you're not a real Colts fan because Y." Just shut up with all that. You think what you want about your team, I'll think how I want about my team.

Oh! You didn't get the memo! It just so happens that I AM the single highest authority on being a good fan. And as such, it goes beyond being my right...it is my duty to dictate fans' behavior, judge that behavior, and pass sentence on any who would step outside my "upstanding fan" criteria.

And any Saints fans who poo-poo on that team without remorse are hereby stripped of any priveledge of honor to call themselves Saints fans.

And karamazov80, this judgement is passed upon you and you are sentenced to go forth from this day onward as...

A Raider fan!:D

Now I feel like a fool. Why didn't you say so from the get-go? Please accept my humblest apologies. :D

I live in Slidell, Louisiana, about 30 miles north of New Orleans. I subscribe to the New Orleans Times-Picayune newspaper. There has been absolutely NO negative press, or imput from fans, media, or anyone else down here about the Saints. Everyone is VERY happy, proud and excited about our Saints winning the NFC Championship and FINALLY going to their first Super Bowl.

As far as our fans being "over excited"? Give me a break! Doesn't the fans of both teams that go to the Super Bowl each year get SO excited, and so happy they cannot contain it? There has been so much bad press lately about the Saints in the media. I'm just sick of it! :monkey4 Especially from the football broadcast media. I watch N.F.L. Network, and they're okay for the most part. But, I won't even watch ESPN anymore. Now..the N.F.L. going after the "WHO DAT" phrase? :horror They didn't care one bit when we chanted "WHO DAT" back in the 1980s when fans starting saying it in the Superdome. Back then most seasons were losing seasons for the Saints...the N.F.L. could care less! Now that they've had a great winning season, they've jumped on it!

The N.F.L.'s greed is really showing now. So now they're sending out "cease and desist" letters to small shop owners down here that print out t-shirts that say "WHO DAT" on them with a gold fleur-de-lis? Yeah, the phrase makes people think of the Saints, but it is not a copyrighted or trademarked phrase owned by the N.F.L.! This shows me that the N.F.L. wants a "piece of the pie" of the booming Saints merchandise that is selling like crazy now.
