He had two record breaking games both times he started. Maybe you missed those games. He was accurate and cool under pressure. We didn't draft him to sit on the bench any longer. It's time.

:lol

Sorry-- The thought of me missing any Eagles' game going back to Randall ducking under Smith's outstretched arms in the Bills' endzone before chucking a deep td bomb is very funny...

No, I saw those games-- Maybe I'm just not seeing it. I accepted McMahon (with dark visor) after Randall's departure (fun season) and Garcia was OK for me when Donovan went down injured (maybe that time it was as I knew his ability from the CFL and the Calgary Stampeders) but Kolb... I don't know. I'd have to see him play for an extended period (say three to five games) before I'd completely 100% commit to saying "Yes, give him the keys to Reid's car."

I think it'll be one more year of McNabb and then Kolb (or another) in 2011.

On another note-- what are you hearing about the rumours of Peppers to the Eagles (to aid their pass rush in the 4-3)-- anything substantiated?

Yeah that's what I get for having adult time last night! I totally missed this. I love the guy, however, it was time. He is not getting any younger and he keeps getting hurt. Time to release a certain number 5 as well. :lecture I want the corn Kolb in at QB.

Glad to see an Eagles fan with some sense.

As I recall, Derek Anderson's first few starts with the Browns were also fantastic, but then. . .it went sour.

BTW, here are Kolb's overall numbers from NFL.com:

TDS 4 INT 3 YDS 741 RTG 88.9 PHI

Not horribly bad, but not fantastic, either. Throwing for lots of yards is only really good if you don't throw picks.

They are higher than McNabbs numbers though. Well the overall rating I mean.

No Neil, nothing on Peppers. The last I heard he was in New York and the Giants were interested. I guess we will see. They cleared some cap room by dumping Westbrook.

Like I posted earlier, I agree that the Eagles need to look for someone else, but I would be cautious about "crowning" Kolb just yet. But you want to crown him? You crown his ass!

Kolb will never lead Philly anyplace. If I was McNabb I'd want out of Philly. That has to be one of the worst cities to play in for any sport. The fans are some of the most ungrateful around at least has been my experience watching from outside the market. The ones that do seem to care don't live in the area. I hope if Philly gets rid of McNabb and Farve calls it quits he ends up in Minny and leads them to a SB. Always love it when a team dumps a guy who helped make them relevant and then he comes back and does something special.

It would serve him well to go to another team. He will probably play great. It's not an issue of being ungrateful at all. If the system isn't working after so long it's time to mix it up. Honestly I would rather see Reid go before McNabb. However, since that isn't going to happen it's the only option I see. And Josh to be honest there are ____ head fans all over and in every city. Not just Philly. I hate when people say stupid ____ like that. Youtube videos from any stadium. You will find fights and all sorts of crap.

But back to McNabb. You know that old saying? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. So again it's time to make changes.

I would consider that the definition of lazy and stupid, personally. The definition of insanity is thinking and behaving well outside of societal expectations. Doing something dumb in the NFL is more common than uncommon, so I wouldn't call that insane. Though more technically, the definition is a purely legal one.

True, but no other city is always first to come to mind....it's one of those "perception is reality" things.:rotfl

How do you think the NFL Draft will do in the ratings this year? Will the ratings be higher on a Thursday night than the traditional Saturday?

Round 1 is 7:30pm on a Thursday night. This is the last, or close to it, Thursday before May sweeps.

Round 1 will be going up against Survivor and The Office that I know of. Not sure about the other stations.

I don't think its the system isn't working so much as they just don't have a lot around him really. Westbrook I always thought was overrated as a player outside of having Owens he never really had a decent WR. Now, he's got two decent young guys in Jackson and Maclin(he should be a stud). The Defense was pretty good in the past but isn't that great now really and thats what kills them IMO.

There are a lot of crappy fans all over the place in every city but IMO Philly and NY take the crown really when it comes to the top. I mean if I was a pro athlete I would take less money to play someplace else other than either of those two places.

Don't forget Oakland. Raider fan doesn't exactly have a great reputation either.:lol:lol:lol

God I wish they could land Peppers. That guy is such a beast on defense.
