If Reid is back and has his way Jackson will be back next year.
That team went from so many big possibilities to an almost re-build phase in less than 1 season.
why would he keep somebody like that...but then again what other team would want to inherit him?
Because he defended him today.
Not saying I agree but that's what I see happening.
That's how I felt about last year's Vikings that finished 6-10, coming off a year where they were one play away from the Super Bowl in that loss to the Saints in the Championship game. We had all 22 starters back for that debacle of a season including the dome collapse.
I can share in that feeling a little bit watching the "08 Steelers play one of the toughest schedules in League history and go on to a #2 seed and a Super Bowl title, and then return almost the exact same team the next season and lose 5 straight after starting 7-2 and missing the play-offs by one game while every loss came by 1 score. Yes, granted they bounce back pretty quick and strong after debacles like those, but to have so much hope for your favorite team like that pissed away in front of your eyes ........ ugh.
I'm not like a lot of people with other teams I root for, I'm a Steelers fan. I love the NFL (with all the drama it's like a soap opera for men to an extent) and will watch a game if it's on, no matter who's playing, but when your team's laying an egg on a weekly basis it kinda starts killing your desire to keep up with everything else going on. In '06 and '09 after a certain point when I knew they weren't going anywhere, I started following the games to see how they could ruin others hopes by pulling the upset wins. It was nice in week 17 of '06 when they beat Cincy at their house and knocked them out of the play-offs. I'm sure as a Vikes fan this season would have had some salvation if they could've knocked Green Bay out of the undefeated ranks, but oh well, at least it seems Ponder is showing he is going to develop into a decent QB.
Oh yeah, AD is a beast ....... as long as he's holding onto the ball, but he's seemed to remedy that ailment. He's one of the rare RBs in the League you can build a franchise around. He's just consistent and produces for them every year. Unlike some other big name back who cried for a big contract, and got it, and then did next to nothing to show he deserved it. I place Peterson at the top of the list of RBs in the League, and that's an impressive list with the likes of Foster, Forte, McCoy, Jones-Drew, Rice and such. I could watch him All Day (pun intended).
They seem to have a good QB to develop, finally. When that offense gets going again then that will wake the beast up in their D again. With the Pack playing like they are, the Bears having that bruising D (but a _____ for a QB) and the Lions finding a stride with all of their talent finally, the NFC North could be the dominant division in the League next season.
