That team went from so many big possibilities to an almost re-build phase in less than 1 season.

That's how I felt about last year's Vikings that finished 6-10, coming off a year where they were one play away from the Super Bowl in that loss to the Saints in the Championship game. We had all 22 starters back for that debacle of a season including the dome collapse. :thud:

why would he keep somebody like that...but then again what other team would want to inherit him?

Because he defended him today.

Not saying I agree but that's what I see happening.

Here is Joe Kapp, former Vikings QB who led us to our first Super Bowl in the '69-'70 season, punching Angelo Mosca. Apparently, both of these guys were holding a grudge from 40 years ago during their CFL days. Mr. Mosca is the same guy known as Angelo "King Kong" Mosca from his pro wrestling days.

Seriously, both of these guys are in their 70s. It's time to move on gentlemen. But LMAO...:lol:rotfl:rotfl:lol

I can share in that feeling a little bit watching the "08 Steelers play one of the toughest schedules in League history and go on to a #2 seed and a Super Bowl title, and then return almost the exact same team the next season and lose 5 straight after starting 7-2 and missing the play-offs by one game while every loss came by 1 score. Yes, granted they bounce back pretty quick and strong after debacles like those, but to have so much hope for your favorite team like that pissed away in front of your eyes ........ ugh.

I'm not like a lot of people with other teams I root for, I'm a Steelers fan. I love the NFL (with all the drama it's like a soap opera for men to an extent) and will watch a game if it's on, no matter who's playing, but when your team's laying an egg on a weekly basis it kinda starts killing your desire to keep up with everything else going on. In '06 and '09 after a certain point when I knew they weren't going anywhere, I started following the games to see how they could ruin others hopes by pulling the upset wins. It was nice in week 17 of '06 when they beat Cincy at their house and knocked them out of the play-offs. I'm sure as a Vikes fan this season would have had some salvation if they could've knocked Green Bay out of the undefeated ranks, but oh well, at least it seems Ponder is showing he is going to develop into a decent QB.

:exactly: :goodpost:

As a hardcore Vikings fan, I predicted a 7-9 record for this season. I didn't see us having 2 wins going into week 13. :slap

I love the NFL too and wait the whole year for the season to start. There's nothing worse than having the joy sucked out of you when your team stinks. :(

At this point I'm going for the high draft pick and hope we keep on losing. :horror There's nothing worse than having a 7-9 or 8-8 team and missing the playoffs and getting only the 17th-20th pick in the draft. Either you're really good or really bad.

I always watch the Vikes no matter what....I've missed one game in the past 20 years. Besides, it's always worth seeing Adrian Peterson and watching QB Ponder develop. :yess:

Oh yeah, AD is a beast ....... as long as he's holding onto the ball, but he's seemed to remedy that ailment. He's one of the rare RBs in the League you can build a franchise around. He's just consistent and produces for them every year. Unlike some other big name back who cried for a big contract, and got it, and then did next to nothing to show he deserved it. I place Peterson at the top of the list of RBs in the League, and that's an impressive list with the likes of Foster, Forte, McCoy, Jones-Drew, Rice and such. I could watch him All Day (pun intended).

1. It's a real shame that fumbling issue was at its worst during that NFC Championship game against the Saints. After his third one, I was screaming at the TV to get him out of there.

2. I worry about Peterson becoming the next Barry Sanders. All that talent wasted because Vikings management couldn't surround him with better players. :(

They seem to have a good QB to develop, finally. When that offense gets going again then that will wake the beast up in their D again. With the Pack playing like they are, the Bears having that bruising D (but a _____ for a QB) and the Lions finding a stride with all of their talent finally, the NFC North could be the dominant division in the League next season.

It's too bad we may be at the bottom of that division for a while.

The great thing about the NFL though, it can take only 2 years for a 6-10 team to go 10-6. Seems like every year begins with hope for the team you root for.

They look like a team that just needs a QB, which they may have one in the makings already. Look at the Steelers, go from 6-10 to 15-1 the next season, and then on to 3 SB appearances in 6 seasons after that. All because they finally got the QB they needed. Granted, that's a rarity, but if they stick with what they have and just fill in missing pieces, instead of trying to be like this year's Eagles and buy a team like the 'Skins usually do, then they may be behind for a season or two, but they're not that far removed from being a dominant team (if not for Favre being a bust last season, and McNabb being another this season, they might still be).

Vikes could go 12-4 next season. It's the way the league is. Just like the Pack could be 5-11 next year.

Let's shift directions for a moment...

What are your thoughts on the Packers vs. Giants game?
Do you think Green Bay gets there first loss this weekend?

And what about the Colts?
They're up against the Patriots.
Do you think they can get their first win?

My prediction:
Packers still undefeated.
Colts still winless.

If the Giants offense gets clicking they can score with just about any team in the League, and Green Bay has a very suspect D. If it weren't for the fact their offense is racking up points on most opponents then the topic of that team would be how much of a joke that D really is. Sure, points allowed is fairly low, but when teams fall behind and have to play catch up at the end then that makes for disaster and a lot of bad decision by their opponents. That being said, I myself would not be shocked at all to see the Packers lose this weekend, especially going to the Meadow Lands to play. They've had a fairly soft schedule this season, but finishing up against 2 strong division rivals and having that huge target of perfection on their backs, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some unraveling at the end, almost like the Saints did back in '09. Before this season, that exact same team was fighting to the bitter end to scrape into a WC slot in the play-offs 2 straight years, and they've shown they can come unglued like any other team can. If they can survive tomorrow then what helps against tough games coming up against Oakland, Chicago and Detroit is the fact they'll play them at home. Going to KC to play could also be a threat for them, going to that field to play against a team with absolutely nothing to lose is a trap game if they take them lightly.

If the Colts would pull off the win against the Pats, I'd be completely dumfounded. Look for Belichick to go into that game like Manning is at the helm and slaughter them mercilessly.

I don't like to make predictions, and here's a huge thing to remember, Rodgers is very prone to concussions and nothing has happened yet this season, and he does get hit a lot more than is made out to be. My picks for these 2 perfect teams is they both remain perfect. I'll give my predictions after the games are over.
