It is tough for me. While I want them to be the #1 seed, at the same time we play better in domes or warmer weather (which is ironic really).

It is a bit funny that one of the best Packer teams of all time isn't really built to play January games in Lambeau. On a bad weather day you could have a team like the 49ers, Giants, or Saints sneak in and win. I doubt it happens, but it could be a factor come playoff time.

Oh yea! It has happened to use many a time. I am glad last year we didn't play in Lambeau to be honest. Look at the 2007 NFC championship. You could argue other things were a factor but the weather did not help us.

Don't get me wrong, playing in Lambeau is difficult for incoming teams regardless but weather has been a huge factor of us in the past few years.

I remember watching that game rooting for the Packers because I didn't think the Giants could beat the Pats in the Super Bowl. That was a damn good game, though. Such a shame that Favre ended his career as a Packer on that INT in OT to lose that game. That was the beginning of the Favre shenanigans that plagued the League for 4 years.

And boy did the Bolts finally come alive last night. Traveling cross country to play a night game like that, and putting up that score like they did, quite impressive. Unfortunately, way too little way too late. Sorry 'bout your luck, Norvy boy :wave

ESPN people already jumping back on the Chargers band wagon because they broke their losing streak. pfft.

Of course they did. It's December the Charger season has finally started.:lol

I love Gruden and his over the top praise of whatever team they're covering. "This guy! Philip Rivers, I'm telling yah Jaws he's the best QB going in the AFC!!" Sounds like Jonny boy is looking for a possible job most of the time.

Great that that wagon finally got out of the mud, but unfortunately the rest of the caravan is miles ahead of them and nearly at their destination. Sports analysts are the biggest band wagon jumpers there are, and act like just because they are on a national show that their bold predictions and man-love they have for certain players is equivalent to the word of God. Honestly, when you get on sports threads, aside from the fandom idiocy being spewed out by band wagon jumping "fans" that don't even watch the games, a lot of those people give better analysis of teams and players than the vast majority of those sport show analysts do. The Chargers every year are about the biggest waste of talent in the League, but every year it only takes 1 win, no matter how abysmal their record is until that point, to get those morons back on that wagon.

I like Gruden on MNF. He breaks down just about everything on the field so even the ditsiest casual fan watching the game can understand what's going on. Sure, he's just like any other fan of the game and gets a little too excited about some players over others, but he praises every player on the field during the games unbiasedly. He calls the game down the middle better than a lot of commentators (Simms and Collinsworth) do.

And poor Al Michaels. He's stuck with yet another partner that wants to have a man relationship with Green Bay's QB. I swear Collinsworth has an Aaron Rodgers shrine set up at his house the way he's always slobbering all over his knob while covering Packers games. He just doesn't shut up about that guy!

Probably already posted by one of my freaks, but here it is anyway:

https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Cam-Newton-gives-16-year-old-fan-a-football-tea?urn=nfl-wp13306

This girl doesn't realize she was holding at least $20K in her hands.

1) Cam Newton is shaping up to be a real class act. I had a lot of doubts about him with everything surrounding him coming out of college, but he's proving a lot of naysayers wrong with his playing and graciousness, so far.

2) I like what the organization did for that girl. They were nice and generous about the situation and made an already unforgettable experience that much better for her.

:rock :rock :rock

Did anyone buy a piece of the Packers today? I am SOOOOOO tempted to get a share just so I can say I am a team owner.

And kind of a bummer the ball the girl got back is worthless compared to what she had but overall she got some ok stuff I guess its fine. Football records are not even close to baseball records in terms of popularity so I doubt that ball would have gone for 20k.

I don't think the ball is worth too much. Pretty obscure record.

I saw a game where Carlos Gonzales hit a walk off home run that completed the cycle, which was only like the 5th time in baseball history that happened and the fan was glad to get some signed merchandise and such.

Time will tell how much that ball will be worth.
The girl, on the other hand....really lucky she is to be in this situation simply for making a t-shirt the night before the game. :lol

I give the ball 4 more days until Cam scores another TD and then THAT will be he ball the HOF wants. :lol

They wanted the ball because that was the one used to break the record, so any after that are obsolete as far as record breakers go.

Are you thinking of record "tying" ball? She's a real fan who was acting in the moment, so you can't blame her.

She did have some real leverage though. I think valuing that ball at $20K is a low estimate, as I don't think the record is a minor one at all.

So until a Cam got talk about breaking that you could have told me who had that record before? I already forgot who had it before :lol.

If you had asked before I would have guessed Vick.

Record ball > record breaking ball.

She had the record breaking ball.

The record breaking ball is the most valuable one. If the record one was, then every rushing TD he scores after that makes the one after the record breaker obsolete and somewhat meaningless. So, the record breaker is the more precious one. Then, the last one he scores before the seasons end will be the record ball, not the ones in between. Remember McGuire breaking the HR record? The ball that BROKE the record was the one that McFarlane spent like $2.5 million on, the ones after that were "ehhhh". Hines Ward kept the ball that put him over 12,000 yards, not the ones after that. The record breakers hold the most value.
