LOL...too much Tebow Kool-Aid a little too soon, I think.

somebody really put that on their body? LOL

I think it's hard to judge a coach after a single year, no matter what the record is. After the 2nd year is up, you can get a better feel for his ability (or inability) to adapt to the roster he's been given, to work with the GM and ownership to bring in talent he can coach and that fits into his system, etc.

I haven't been paying much attention to the Vikes for obvious reasons, but I think the issue of being forced to deal with a washed-up has-been QB and then moving to a rookie with no pro experience must have played a huge role. Hard to win in today's NFL without a solid QB unless you have a seriously good defense and offensive line to allow the running game to take over late in games.

:slap

Therein lies the fatal flaw in your argument. "You haven't paid attention to the Vikes," yet you're going to guess on Frazier? :gah:

You have no idea what's going on here. Leslie Frazier went from a solid hiring to a guy who is simply over matched and making mistakes that even rookie coaches shouldn't make.

This is coming from a guy who is plugged in on the local Vikings scene. My sources are....

1. "Espn1500-Twin cities" local radio.

2. "Minneapolis Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press" local papers

3. Local area sports blogs.

Let me break it down....

1. You indeed can judge a coach if he goes 2-14 or 3-13 and see the mistakes (on field and off field) being made.

2. The talent he was given was worth a minimum of 6 wins, not this current debacle.

3. Did anyone see the end of the Denver game? Everyone knew the right thing to do at the end was to let Denver score so the Vikes have a chance with some time remaining. Frazier let the time bleed and Denver kicked a FG, game over. What's worse was his explanation in the post game conference. He said, "we could have blocked a 23-yard FG." Really Frazier! :lol

4. Poor clock management in general.

5. And my favorite, taking timeouts right after a timeout or timeouts right after a tv timeout due to sideline confusion. :lol

6. You said, "I think the issue of being forced to deal with a washed-up has-been QB." Really karamazov80! Did you do any research here? :dunno It was Frazier's decision to bring in Donovan Mcnabb! People within the organization knew this would be a rebuilding year but Frazier wanted to win now and chose Mcnabb to come in. It was his decision to bring in offensive coordinator Bill "bumbling" Musgrave too.

Here's what our local columnist Patrick Reusse wrote in the Star Tribune....

"And, especially, they were hasty in giving a three-year contract to Frazier based on rookie quarterback Joe Webb winning a postponed game that he shouldn't have in Philadelphia.

The latest of these hasty decisions looks to be the worst. As a head coach, Frazier has the same overmatched aura as the Vikings' previous Les -- Steckel, the one-year wonder (3-13) of 1984.

It's one thing to have well-lubricated spectators chanting "Fire Childress" in a season of big disappointment. It's another to leave knowledgeable football guys shaking their heads from one Sunday to the next and muttering:

"What in the name of Marty Mornhinweg was Leslie thinking?''

Frazier is a nice fellow and a competent defensive coordinator, but as a head coach, well, put it this way:

The hasty twins, owners Zygi and brother Mark, would be far better off if Mike Tice was completing his 10th season on the job."

It amazes me when people can make an assessment about NFL teams not in their home market. :thud:

What, you don't like the centaur with the disproportionately large Broncos helmet on?

I mean apparently this guy needed to brush up on his Greek mythology before getting a Tim Tebow Broncos tattoo, because it's of a mythological creature that has nothing to do with a bronco (untrained horse) or a Christian.

Yes, I have a Steelers tattoo, but it's just of the team logo. But I have seen on a fan site where a guy got a huge back piece of some of the all-time greats, which is fine, but all huge in the middle was Kordell Stewart :horror

I think my advice to people before getting a tattoo of a specific player on a specific team, wait until they retire. I mean, could you imagine if a fan got a tattoo years ago saying "TO 49er for life!!" Or better yet, just don't!

Damn SixMillionDollarManGuy, you are one frustrated Vikes fan!

:lol

Yep! Just call me a passionate rube fan who has been waiting since 1977 to go back to the Super Bowl. :horror

You don't know how good you have it to be a Steelers fan. It's one of the very few teams in the NFL where their fan base can actually think they have a shot at the Super Bowl on a yearly basis.

FINAL
Cleveland....3
Pittsburgh..14

This use to be an intense, entertaining, rivalry grudge match before the Browns left for Baltimore. But man oh man, what the hell has happened to the Cleveland organization since they got their team back? Basically, they've been mediocre to brutal.

They are an expansion team, not like the Texans who were added few years later have done much better.

One of our local columnists asked Vikings CB Benny Sapp about the pressure of playing in a injury riddled secondary.

His response was...

"Pressure? I'll tell you what pressure is! Playing pick-up basketball with a couple of gang members for $20 and you don't have the $20."

:lol:rotfl:lol
