1. Any football fan knows a fierce pass rush can shut down any good offense, except you I guess. That's the one thing the Giants have going for them. Just ask the 18-0 Patriots from a previous Super Bowl....against the Giants.

2. You've got to love the tired old song about bringing up "how bad another team is." I've been talking smack on that Vikings ass all season long. Just because one's own team is bad doesn't mean they're not entitled to an opinion.

3. But I guess guys like you show up on football threads when times are going good for your team.

1. You assume I don't know I guess. :dunno The Giants could make a run but based on how they've played all year long I don't expect them too. Plus SF has a pretty damn good D of their own and just might shut down NY..

2. I didn't say you couldn't have an opinion.

3. Again, like in the Baseball thread I've been posting in these threads for a while (my first post in this thread was 9/16/2008 and 186 posts overall in this thread). I just don't do it all the time. As far as basically sticking by my team I've been a 49ers fans since I was 7-8 years old. Loved them then and love them now. So go and try to toss that off on someone who it will actually stick to.

LOL...Flynn has one good game and everone is slurping him. Do you anything about football? :lol

Weren't you the guy that was run out of here in October for making non-coherent comments? Now you come back 2 months later for the playoffs. :lol

like you said we're entitled to our opinions so get off your high horse :lecture and while your at it tell your team to hire a quality coach for once! :slap

"Just don't expect me to give much credence to someone who has a team as bad as the Vikes."

That was a pretty dumb statment you deleted. So what you're saying is I would have more credence if I was....say a Ravens or Steelers fan based on their records, right? But because the Vikings went 3-13 then anything I say on this thread is irrelevant?

Perhaps you need to separate a person from his team Josh. No wonder you deleted it because it was foolish.

Should I go back to October and dig up some of your old posts here?

Anyway, you were ripped by several folks. Why did you disappear? Couldn't take the heat?

Like I said, J.H. is your Franchise coach finally! But the fairy tale story of Alex Smith is going to end in the playoffs and his weak mediocre arm is going to be the end of the Niners SB run. :slap

I deleted it because I didn't want to have to read a post like this. :lol

Yeah, I'm more willing to take crap for saying what I said from someone whose team did well this year. As far as anything else you might say it may well be very spot on but don't try to give someone crap about their team if you have no ground to stand on.

That's all. No more. No less.

I think he has the chance to be. I'm not going to cash that check after just one regular season though. We will see on Smith maybe things turn around for the kid finally.

Pretty big talk coming from a guy whose team is making it to the playoffs for the first time in 9 years.

Why hasn't your team won your "weak division" in 9 years? :lol

You knew Homer Jethro would be showing up sooner or later.

Homer Jethro huh? Wow.....resorting to name calling now huh? That's pretty weak. :nono What's next...stealing my lunch money? :rolleyes2

Geaux Saints! :yess:

...and where will your team be watching the playoffs from? Oh yeah...at home...on the couch. :wave

Actually, you would have been called on it by others on this thread.

Anyone who posts here knows half the fun is good natured smack talking whether your team is good or not. Based on your logic this thread would be down to 3-4 folks posting here.

So what's your cutoff point, record wise "so someone can give crap about their team?" 10-6 or better?

Again, just proves how absurd you can be.

You're banking on too much, it's not just a arm a good team needs, it's also the leadership that Montana and Young possessed that's missing.

Manning: Peyton and Eli, Favre, Brady, Brees, Big Ben, etc, have it, that's why their teams dominated.

Smith is too much of a follower, than a leader. that's why this niners season was a fairytale that fell in Harbaugh's lap, but he'll get a dose of reality next season when he finds out that Smith is not a leader, You need a quality coach as well as a quality leader for QB. that's why the QB's I mentioned have success. It's a pair that needs to exist in a quality team. They got the Coach now you need the leader for qb.:lecture

They might have. They might not have. Wasn't worried about it and didn't think what I said was much in the way of smack talk. :lol

I jokingly smack talk with people I care to do so with and vice versa. :)

Hadn't really thought about a specific number.

If you consider Homer Jethro name calling then you're more sensitive than I thought.

What do you call this...

Thank you Centurion! I am a big Saints fan, and they have played very well the last eight games actually! Winnig all of their past eight games in a row, and ended the regular season undefeated at home in the Superdome today at 8-0! :yess:

I guess those critics said everything that they wanted to say about running up the score last week. The Saints blew out the Panthers today. They had over 6 Just as I predicted that they would win, and they did. I don't have a sore throat :monkey4 cough, cough compared to a few here that enjoy making fun of me. You know who you are. Whatever. My team is 13-3, and the third seed in the N.F.C. They've won their division for the second time in three seasons. I am VERY proud of them! We are very dedicated fans in the "Who Dat Nation"! I'll predict again that they will beat the visiting Lions this coming Saturday night in the wildcard playoff game inside our LOUD Superdome.

Drop the Aints reference. That's a REALLY weak jab. It's totally irrelevant now. A lame excuse to try and pick on the Saints and their fans. Old news. The Saints have turned things around since Coach Sean Payton and Drew Brees arrived in 2006. Winning the N.F.C. South in 2006. Winning it again in 2009, and Super Bowl XLIV. Now winning the N.F.C. South again this season. A new mini-season is about to start. The playoffs. It's not over yet.

The Saints broke some records this season. Don't worry I'm not going to write a book in my post. All of the records are listed here at the Saints official website: https://www.neworleanssaints.com/ne...me-Notes/db88c0fd-ba43-4bfa-874d-053bc2a79440

The Saint will be ready for the Lions.

No quotation marks in my post either. Geaux Saints!

Yipee! I'm 14 years old and I love my Saints!!!!!

:lol :rotfl :lol :rotfl

Dude...I've already told you....I'm not 14! :slap

I am 40 years old.

I love my team, and I'm very proud of them. Nothing wrong with admiring a successful team that has already proven themselves, and they're doing it again this season. :)

I weally wike my Dwew Bwees and the Saints. Dey awe a vewy excewwnt team and I think dey will win and dey do. Dey swaughtered youw team wike I knew dey would. Do not make fun of me fow wiking my team and onwy posting when dey are in the pway offs. I am a gwon man and I will teww my mommy is you don't weave me awone.

Geauxtsoper Saints

Play offs are now set for the WC round. Of course, the Steelers have the last game of the weekend, but they could use all the time they can get to heal up some. I like Tebow and all, but I hope he plays like he has been these past couple of weeks on Sunday.

What's the over under on James Harrison not getting a fine against a QB like Tebow? And what are the chances Tebow survives a playoff game against the Steelers? I'm saying zero on both.

The Bungles should finally get their first playoff win in awhile.

The Terds and the horse shoe penetrated Eli's should be a good matchup. Falcons are statistically better in all three aspects of the game, but they don't get the miracle plays and lucky bounces and its outdoors and away. Should be interesting.

Reports are Spagnolo and Norv are out.

You just don't act it the way you talk.

And could we do with out the stupid fake french word?

The Saints defense does not suck. Sure they have not had as many takeaway pick 6 scores as in their Super Bowl run in 2009. But they have had some key takeaways when it counted. Plus the defensive line and secondary have played tough this season, and sent other teams to punt on a 3 and out offensive series. I have faith in the Saints defense, just like their explosive offense.
In general, when the Saints defense has played well this year, it is because the offense put them in a position to easily anticipate what the opposing team was gonna do. That's pretty much the only way the defenses of the Saints, Packers, and Patriots have succeeded this year. Same way the Colts defense has worked historically. I probably shouldn't complain too much, because frankly, if I were a GM in the NFL, like those teams, I would load up my offense and pick up scraps on defense with whatever money I had left over. That gives you the best chance to win a championship in today's NFL. But, the Saints defense just is not good this year in my view, and based on the numbers. I'm not talking about takeaways, I'm talking in general (and that Superbowl team also had a crap defense apart from the fact that they were great ball hawks). They have been better than they have been in the past at keeping teams from scoring in the red zone, which is fantastic, but they're not exactly the 49ers there. Is this enough in the playoffs? Maybe. But I would feel a hell of a lot better if this defense could consistently stand up to other offenses without needing the Saints offense to force their opponents to throw. Because if Brees has an off game, then that's all she wrote.

Reports are Spagnolo and Norv are out.
Norv should have been gone years ago. He just can't close. And what do we say about that, Alec Baldwin?

*sigh*

Another year and my Chargers floundered. Oh well. At least they spoiled the raiders final game and playoff hopes. :yess:

Now I get to root for the Steelers & Texans and the Saints & Falcons in the AFC & NFC Wild-Card respectively. :D

Yeah but that spoiling of Raiders season let the Tebows in the playoffs and that's worse IMO.

They were the most Jeckle and Hyde team this year. One week they play like the team they could be next week look like hey are one of the worst teams in the league.

I hope both Turner and Smith get the axe.
