Good luck to whoever brings you in Randy. If you can't thrive with Tom Brady you can't thrive anymore.

Very true. I think many people including the average Pats fan I talk to fall into the trap of just remembering 2007. Watching him and Brady toy with defenses that year was fun, but it was never the same after that season.

The guy got dumped twice in 2010, showed nothing with a third team and went unsigned this year. Buyer beware.

He's another guy who thinks because people look at him as a super athlete he should be able to walk on water, and then plays the blame game with others when he realizes he can't. There's never been a better example of someone who believes in his own hype.

Good riddance is all I can say. No team with half a desire to win will be bothered signing him.

He did jack-squat at Oakland, Tennessee and when he went back to Minnesota. He's like TO in the sense they feel their being on a team automatically elevates that teams play.

It's a shame because those guys are so talented, but after its all said and done, their talent isn't what they'll be remembered for.

Another one who is going to slide into their category is Santonio Holmes. Happy when things go well, but start controversy and drag a team down when they skid in the slightest. Except well, Holmes has a ring.

I'd like to see both sides work it out to keep Peyton there, but with that organization, I don't see it happening. Who knows how much Peyton feels he deserves from them, and we could all guess how much they're willing to give him. If they want to consider themselves in a "rebuilding" phase, then there's no guarantee they'll be successful again like they've been under Peyton.

To me, the best thing the Colts could do is keep him aboard, and say if he can get a Division Title and 10 wins or more, then they'll give him a big bonus. But, if it seems he's going to struggle, then it's time to pull the plug and start investing in the future, and if he wants to stay on board and help in that process, then fine. If not, fine still.

For real, Peyton is probably making more on his advertising spokesman deals than the Colts are paying him, when it's all said and done. Heck, if the Colts retain him then that's unquestionably THE biggest game during week 1 next season. No matter what, he puts butts in seats and rakes in the huge viewer ratings. I think they'd be fools to not try and work something out with him. But, I'm just a fan who sits on the couch and watches the games, they're the millionaires playing the game.

$28 million for a guy who in all likelihood isn't going to be the same player? No thanks. The Colts would be better off cutting him and moving forward with Luck. Even if they keep him, the Colts as they are constituted right now are not a contender. With Manning this year they probably were not going to be contenders. They've blown everything else up so far this off-season, might as well keep it going with Peyton.

March 8 should be interesting.

Every one was ready to write them off in '08 after his knee surgery complications, but after early season struggles they finished 12-4 after a 9 game win streak. Peyton is one of those rare players whose very presence elevates a team.

I'll take the knee injury he had that year over the neck injury he has now. Much different and much more dangerous going forward for a QB who will be 36 when next season starts.

He doesn't have to look far to see neck/spinal issues. That's what derailed the career of his older brother. The guy has accomplished everything in the NFL, I realize he loves it and wants to keep playing, but what he's trying to come back from is pretty serious when thinking about his future health.
