the only thing tebow will be doing in NYJ is the wildcat package they have. they won't swap dirty sanchez for tebow as a starter

I'm not sure about that. The Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum on Mike and Mike this morning: "If there are say 3 3-and-out's and we roll Tim out there and it works well who knows."

Supreme confidence in his starter right there.....

I'm not saying the Saints are innocent, but there are always teams with more or less of a rep for playing dirty, for whatever reason, and most probably do deserve it. With steroids, I know that all teams have that problem. But Goodell didn't make it a pet project to clamp down on steroid use (for good reason--it would change the nature of the game fundamentally if steroid users were taken away), so players get slaps on the wrist if anything at all. Teams, collectively, may be more or less innocent, but many of these players are amoral thugs who enjoy hurting other guys. Look at James Harrison and his attitude. He's better and more outspoken than most, so he gets more attention, but he's not special in his attitude.

The role that Williams played is really unfortunate, and ultimately, stupid and arrogant on his part, and he deserves whatever he gets. I think Payton and Loomis were also too arrogant to do their due diligence to reign in Williams, and for that, they deserve their punishment as well. But as for hits knocking guys out of games, I haven't seen more of that with the Saints than with anyone else. And in fact, I've seen teams like the Ravens and Steelers laying guys out at what must be a much higher level, because of their style of defense. Does that make them dirty? Not sure what other kinds of dirty plays you've seen from the Saints over the years, but they've caused fewer headlines than other teams and players for that kind of thing, and that's gotta say something.

I completely support everything you said there. I as a life-long Saints fan felt sick to my stomach after first hearing about this "bounty" scandal. I had a feeling that the punishment would be harsh, and it was worse than I thought. The coaches, and those players involved made a BIG mistake with the bounty program. While I see some people online calling for Roger Goodell to be fired, I disagree. The Saints coaches (Williams, Payton, and Asst. Coach Joe Vitt) and the GM (Loomis) lied to the commissioner and the Saints owner, Tom Benson. Benson found out and asked Loomis to stop and he didn't. Coach Payton and Gregg Williams were asked to stop, and they didn't. They knew what they were doing was wrong, and they kept doing it. That, to me hurts me the most. They should have stopped when asked to do so. Honestly none of this should have ever started in the first place. Do I think it "taints" the Saints Super Bowl win? No. Do I think it will take a while to recover from this? I really don't know. Now the Saints must move past this. The 2012 season is not a total loss. The first priority right now is to lock in Drew Brees to a multi-year aka long term contract....NOW!

Do I think other teams out there have done the same "bounty" thing in one form or another? You bet I do! If it's not for money, I'm sure it's for other "gifts" of some kind. The Saints were made an example by this punishment. It really hurts. But I am and always will be a die-hard Saints fan for life! We fans and the team have seen rough times before and came through them. The fans and the Saints can and will prevail once again.

$45 million well spent :lol
Random question... where has Six been? Haven't seen him post in this thread for a while.
Good question.

Six! Where you is? :gah:

Tebow seems so nice and well normal and some of the Jets seem well......

That's giving the Jets too much credit. A circus is an organized event whose purpose is fun, family entertainment. If I were a Jets fan I wouldn't let my kids watch that band of self-propelled misfits. Rex Ryan is an embarrassment to that organization.

Ahh, the Jets. Where do I begin?

Well, remember when they were playing the Dolphins last season? One of the offensive trainers sticks his knee out to deliberately trip up (successfully) one of the Dolphin players as he ran down the sideline.

Also, harassment of that slutty latina sports caster. No matter how slutty she is, gotta keep composure, especially when you're being paid the big bucks to be a 'professional'.

"Mr. President? What do you think about the New York Jets?"

The marriage between Rex Ryan and NY media seems to be breaking. Just brutal skewering of the Jets today.

I said it when he started they would love him. He's gives a good quote and does zany things like make fetish videos with his wife and guarantee Super Bowls. Now that it's obvious that he's taken the Jets as far as he could the divorce will be very messy.

At least Jests fans have those 2 AFC championship game losses to hang their hats on.:lol

That's exactly it. Rex built "his" team quick. They have piqued and now will start the decline. This has Mangini written all over it. Players won't want to play for a diva coach when they want to get the attention for their play. It has already started considering all they can attract is convicts. LaRon Landry has killed his career...I can't believe there wasn't more of a market for him.

The Tebow show officially hit Broadway today. This is going to be one interesting season on the Jets hands.

All this for a supposedly back up QB???:lol
