And Tebow led the league last year in 3 and outs. What a bright GM the Jets have.

I will say in fairness to Tebow. That if they have him at the goal line offense, it's going to be a B---- to stop them down there. Plus I can see how they could make the "Wild Cat" really dangerous with him running it.

Did Tuesday sign Wednesday, as well?

:panic: That would be amazing, and would be a huge middle finger to Goodell in some ways. "Suspend me, huh? Howzabout I get one of the best coaches over the last quarter century to come out of retirement and take over for me?" I really don't see it happening, though.

I am sure Goodell still wins with the millions of dollars Payton loses.

Parcells has hit a few snags. One they can't just hire him, they have to go through the whole hiring process including interviewing minority candidates. Two Parcells clock for hall of fame restarts.

Yea...Parcells was so successful in Miami, I couldn't imagine there NOT being a line up for his services since he quit on them.....

Oh wait, he still thinks its 1985 and measures the future of prospects by height and weight and considers speed irrelevant.

If this whole thing about Payton reaching out to Parcells is true...it's just more Payton arrogance. "Let's hire this probable HOFer to replace me this year and watch the team fail. It will make me look REAL good."

The dude is no doubt a slick talker he knows exactly what he's doing and know that his fan base is going to run Mark out of town. Especially if he has another 26 INT season like last year.

Tebow has every intention of becoming the starter there, I'm sure.

I agree. I’m sure he is planning on being the starter and it was very calculated that he never said backup. I just found it interesting. I never really cared about Mark Sanchez before but poor guy is getting hozed now… this will be a fun season in NY.

If Tebow does start, anything less than a conference title and the public will demand his head. As we all know the media is tough up there. Probably the worst possible place for Tebow to go in my opinion.

How do you figure? This is a professional league. If he can't beat out Tebow does he deserve the starting job?

By the end of last season Sanchez barely deserved to be starting ahead of 74-year-old Mark Brunell. I understand why Tebow would think he has a good shot at being the starter.

If you're still throwing 26 INT's in your third year as a start NFL QB. You need to be fired or at least have some competition behind him to see what happens from there.

The only thing crazier than bringing in Tebow to compete with Sanchez is signing Sachez to an extension to begin with.

I guess I just see what Tampa Bay did for Josh Freeman who had an equally (if not worse) year than Sanchez. They bring in a top WR and a top OL and a new coaching staff that is built around turning Josh around and what do the Jets do for Sanchez… bring in Tebow to make them even more of a circus than they all ready are. Oh well… not like I really care since I don’t really like Sanchez, Tebow or the Jets. I’ll just sit back and enjoy the craziness.

The 2 teams are in pretty different circumstances. Jets are looking to improve the team record first, not develope a QB.

If that’s their plan then they should have gone harder after Manning because both guys they have now need a lot of work before they lead that team to a better record.

Parcells was Payton's mentor. I think it's a real stretch to think that he could be thinking this way. Plus, Parcells won everywhere he went. I'm not sure why things would change with the Saints next year, particularly with their awesome offense still in place.

When he has Belichick on staff.

I don't really think Parcells is the answer for the Saints. Maybe the bite the bullet and let Spags HC this year and look forward to Payton's return in 2013. It just sucks for the organization that this happens in a season where they're primed to be contenders and could conceivably be home for the SB.

I really doubt that Bill Parcells will be willing to return to the game. He stands to be inducted into the N.F.L. Hall Of Fame in about 5 years. I think, in my opinion that assistant coach, Pete Carmichael, Jr. is the best option for head coach right now. He's been inside Payton's coaching staff already, and has had some limited experience coaching the Saints last year. Combine him with Drew Brees guiding the offense, and I think the Saints will be okay. Or at least as good as they can get without Sean Payton there coaching and "sharing a brain" with Drew Brees like he usually does. The season is not lost. The Saints still have talented players, and are bringing in new ones now. I'm remaining optimistic like I always do about the Saints. :)

Actually they signed Drew Stanton first. Then when Tebow came available they gave up draft picks and millions of dollars. Sanchez is gonna fall fast.
