Man, I'm a Colts fan...this years gonna be brutal....and maybe many more to come. I'm scared to death Andrew Luck's beard is gonna creep up and turn into Jeff George's moustache. Denver will be a blast to watch. I do hope it works out for Tebow....the Jets seem like a pretty uncomfortable fit for him.

Yeah, I figured as much after read your name and some of your statements about Manning. I think you guys are going to be a okay for the next 15 years at QB. Hopefully that O-Line protects him, and not get him hit so much that he becomes gun shy and watching the rush instead of looking down field.

The league has been known to do that to great college QB's coming in.

Incoming QBs are always a crap shoot, no matter how highly touted they are. I would be worried, as well. The 10 games a year that Peyton gave you may not come back anytime soon. But there's definitely room for optimism with Luck. All the analysts act like he's gonna be the greatest pro QB ever to put on a helmet.

I hope so....I'm terrified after the fire sale and I've seen too many can't miss college qb's fail spectacularly to get my hopes up too high yet. I'm old and suffered through a lot of bad Colt's seasons already. :rotfl

That's one thing that annoys me most about Payton's suspension. Brees is no spring chicken. Who knows how many years he's gonna have left? Every one is important, and one stinker of a year at this stage is a huge loss. I've been a Saints fan since I was a little kid, and know how badly it can all turn. Once Brees and Payton leave, I fear it's gonna be paper bag time once again.

I was pretty surprised by Payton's involvement.....even moreso by the suspension.:horror I'm not saying it's not warranted, but they weren't messin' around!

Being a Panthers fan over the years I have seen the dirty play by the saints defense. I thought it was me just being a panther homer and overly protective of my team. I wondered why last year Steve Smith went crazy on Sean Payton himself after the cheap shot on Smith in the end zone happened...now we know. Saint's deserved 1st rounders taken from them IMO but with SP being suspended for a full year I think it equals out. I guess the question now is, how are they going to handle the draft and will Bree's even play next year at all.

You think the Saints organization will bring Payton back after his suspension?
No doubt in my mind. He's accomplished things no other Saints coach has come close to doing. Beyond that, it wasn't primarily his fault anyway (though he deserves some culpability), and even if he was the ringleader of all that, there are many worse crimes that can be committed in the grand scheme of things.

That thing in the end zone had nothing to do with the bounty issue. It was a hit after a TD was scored, and wasn't something that could have caused injury. Just an overzealous and frustrated defender. And again, the Saints surely aren't the only team doing this. They're just the only ones who got caught. I'm sure there are "dirty" Panthers players as well.

While I will agree that the saints hit in the end zone on smitty was no part of the bounty program is was a cheap shot on him. The difference between the saints and other teams as this program was lead by the whole organization and not just between players. I have heard talk around the league of other teams having stuff like this over the years but not to near the extent it was being done in the saints organization. I understand you are a saints fan and not really trying to upset you but really you can't sit here and say that crap was just wrong. Especially in the times of Rodger G and all his safety measures.

With that said the saints have been under investigation for a few years and they got caught red handed. To say other players on other teams are just as dirty as the whole saints organization is absurd. I remember when some panthers players got caught taking Roids, while I am certain most other teams had players doing the same thing. I did not point fingers around the league the way saints fans are doing now. I say when the evidence presents itself about other teams then I will back up the point you are trying to make. Till then all 31 other teams are innocent until proven guilty IMO.

I'm not saying the Saints are innocent, but there are always teams with more or less of a rep for playing dirty, for whatever reason, and most probably do deserve it. With steroids, I know that all teams have that problem. But Goodell didn't make it a pet project to clamp down on steroid use (for good reason--it would change the nature of the game fundamentally if steroid users were taken away), so players get slaps on the wrist if anything at all. Teams, collectively, may be more or less innocent, but many of these players are amoral thugs who enjoy hurting other guys. Look at James Harrison and his attitude. He's better and more outspoken than most, so he gets more attention, but he's not special in his attitude.

The role that Williams played is really unfortunate, and ultimately, stupid and arrogant on his part, and he deserves whatever he gets. I think Payton and Loomis were also too arrogant to do their due diligence to reign in Williams, and for that, they deserve their punishment as well. But as for hits knocking guys out of games, I haven't seen more of that with the Saints than with anyone else. And in fact, I've seen teams like the Ravens and Steelers laying guys out at what must be a much higher level, because of their style of defense. Does that make them dirty? Not sure what other kinds of dirty plays you've seen from the Saints over the years, but they've caused fewer headlines than other teams and players for that kind of thing, and that's gotta say something.

Being from DC, several former Skins' players have come out and said that Williams ran a bounty program while he was the DC here. Should the league have investigated each and every team Williams was involved with? :dunno It's not for me to decide, but it does seem a little unfair that the league didn't expand their investigation beyond the Saints.

In the interests of full disclosure, I am NOT a 'Skins fan, so I don't care either way.

it may just be a case of just looking into the team he was currently with. the NFL probably already knew about the other teams williams was with in the past

that means he'll be a bust :lol

that's bad when you draft the guy with your #1 pick and only get a 4 & 6 round pick when you ship him off less than 2 years later

I bet Elway sees it as a victory. He never embraced the guy. When the Broncos kept winning last year he looked like the owner from Major League begrudgingly clapping.:lol

Because with every win he kept knocking us out the Luck sweepstakes. I know that's how I was feeling. Like a bittersweet taste in your mouth.

That's lame. Once we hit 4 wins there was no way we'd get Luck. So by the time we were 5-5 I hope you were changing your tune and embracing it as one of the best seasons the Bronco's have had in the past 13 years.

It is a shame to only get a 4th round pick, but you have realise it wasn't really Elway's pick so he wasn't concerned with what it cost for Tebow. Thats called a sunk cost.

What stinks is even Elway couldn't comprehend what Tebow really means to the team. Honestly I will never bet against Tebow. We haven't seen the last of his glory days, IMO.

I don't think I can think of a more awkward fit for Tebow....maybe the party boat Vikings, but it would be close. He may end up as Private Pyle halfway through the season or shanked by one of his quality character teammates.....heck Sanchez may shank him. I hope he plays well and soon there.
