Yeah, I can see that . But there’s no info on this new “first edition” practice. There’s on only SKU on Sideshow, they usually split them into two.

Sideshow page mentions it being First Edition in the description but there’s no timer or pre-order window listed or anything.

From what I remember, the Modern suit Batman was also a first edition. I dont recall having to queue for that one. I wonder if someone morenl official like Kit would know.

He looks good, considering that's just how he looks in the movie. Would've probably preferred a first or second Blade movie version, but I'm a casual enough fan of his series that this is plenty to represent the character for me overall, and he'll also fit in on a shelf with the other Deadpool/X-Men figures.

I spoke with Sideshow support and they said all figures pre-ordered from them will be first edition. No time limit.

I mean, it definitely looks like.. whatever they turned the character into in the D/W film. So that's something.

My issue is that I personally think he looked underwhelming and mid in that film. It certainly didn't make me thankful to see Blade again, with his hideous MCU-styled costume, looking old and out of shape.

That's not how I remember the character and certainly not a look I want on my shelf for Blade.

I guess I'm trying to say, figure looks like what we saw in the film. And that's the problem.

Figure looks fantastic but no interest in this. I'm actually thinking of cancelling my Wolverine as well. Was so hype for it when it released but now I'm not so sure about having anything from this movie.

That's a fantastic looking figure, but his expression looks about as sad and tired as my sense of enthusiasm about it. I feel your pain, Blade.

I remember when HT would release figures within the same promotional window of the film's release. This was over a decade ago and films like Terminator Salvation, Avengers and Thor come to mind as those that had their figures released while the films were still in the theatres, or just a few months after. It felt fresh and relevant and having a figure or two from the film connected with the sense of hype and enjoyment. It all felt like part of the moment. Now... well, not so much.

As a collector I've saved thousands of dollars by reserving my internal excitement to own a figure from a hot property. Now I scarcely have any incentive to buy a figure from a film that's a year or two past, unless it's a particularly nice figure or a film that was especially meaningful to me. I may buy a Wolverine from Deadpool/Wolverine, but all these cameo characters would have been better off as limited convention exclusives. Is anyone really looking to amass a huge D/W collection into 2026 when we'll have moved on to so many other new films and franchises?

That’s definitely an issue I have with hot toys, they always go with the latest version and not the most iconic or most wanted.

They revisited days of future past wolverine out of the blue instead of X1 or Logan.

Oldman Indy instead of Raiders hell that movie even has a younger Indy flashback.

John Wick 4 instead of John Wick 1.

And now blade… it’s almost like when hot toys makes a character I like they specifically make the version I’m least likely to buy saves me money I guess I did cave in a get Wick tho because that’s still an awesome movie

Some of these, like John Wick 1 and Logan I am pretty sure they have never had the rights to.

No he didn’t, if I remember correctly it’s shown on the wall in the hideout it looks like he’s about to pick but grabs the smaller blades instead.

I’ve only seen the movie once tho maybe just dreamed that

I’m glad hot toys is going deep into lines again, I hope they finish the team but I’ve got no interest in anything from this movie… not without a 2017 Logan figure atleast.

I just hope they go this deep when they get to a line I actually care about.

SooSoo Toys Blade comes with a similar sword and hilt accessory.

Forgot I PO’d that figure at GT until I searched my order history. For some I thought it was already released and I did not order - that must of been the Present Toys Blade.

so I will probably pass on the Sideshow 1st Edition Timed PO and save myself the extra $50 (between the SSC markup, tax, shipping) and order this new ol’ figure elsewhere.
