Belichick was outstanding way before he was even at NE. He was a Defensive coordinator (2 superbowl wins with NY) for one of the best ranked NFL Defenses of all time. How is that not great?

He was great before huh? You need to check out his record before Tom Brady then. From 1991 to 2000 he had ONE winning season as a HC. Sorry that's not great. Being a good coordinator doesn't mean crap. RC, Charlie Weis, Josh McDaniel are all good coordinators but sucked or suck as HC. Sorry being good as a level 2 guy doesn't mean you're great.

The D's he coached in NY only had LT (one of the best players ever) on it and some other very solid players to work with. Keep trying though. :hi5:

Yep, he's never been good at anything. Coaching one of the best ranked Defenses ever is complete ****. His five Superbowl wins (3 as a head coach) and 7 suberbowl appearences is the definition of a garbage coach. Actually, everyone of Bills winning seasons with NE has nothing to do with his coaching, it's everyone else and Tom brady.

Keep trying though. :wave

He's an amazing coach. I can't remember the last time someone was able to succeed at the level he has, considering he turned Stanford around, came to the NFL and then turned the Niners around. If he were in NO I would probably feel the same way. I do hope the Saints can get their **** together before Brees gets too old and they have to *gulp* rebuild.

they'll gut it anyway when people start wanting too much money

This discussion is going around in circles. No, Belichick wasn't great with the Browns. He went 37-45. Yes, all of his success comes with Tom Brady. I don't see how this is a great knock on him. Was Bill Walsh less of a coach because he had no success without Joe Montana?:dunno

The Ravens are getting a lot of love over the Pats in this thread.

I ain't really seeing that.

Ravens are good...Pats are better...Pats are at home...and they don't have a big history of blowing home games.

Atlanta is good...Niners are better.

Pats and Niners in the SB.

Niners win it...but I am only saying that because I have felt that the AFC should have taken the last three SBs and the NFC pulled the rug out from under my feet and I feel it is going to happen again just because I want the AFC to get caught up with the SB wins. I actually think the Pats are the better team.

Well, Brees is now the highest paid QB in the league, and Payton is the highest paid coach in the league with his new contract. Hard to see them getting much more than that. This is balanced out a bit by the fact that the Saints pay the defense peanuts. It shows on the field.

QFT

I dont see the Pats losing this weekend, they are simply a better team in all facets, but I can see them losing in the SB to the Niners

But if the Pats do lose im pulling for Ray Ray

Funny I have picked the home team for all the games , either I thought they would win or if it was a coin flip and went with the home team and so far only had 2 wrong.

This week I am going to pick an away team. 49ers and Pats.
