Where did all of these last minute posters come from? Bandwagonners! Now we see all of these Habs fans in spades. Only two rounds people!

lol... One, I only just recently noticed this thread. I've posted on countless sports forums supporting the Habs since the internet first launched. Two, I've been a huge Habs fan for over 30 years. Three, since you don't know me from Adam, your assumption is based on squat.

You want to talk playoffs hockey and contribute intelligently to the ongoing conversation? Let's do it. However, if you prefer instead to spout asinine trash talk and make dumbo assumptions of others based on zip, I have better things to do like completely ignore your existence. Surely, there is a toddler section where you can go with that attitude?

Fair?

:)

So are you 1 of the 41 that got tossed in the slammer the other night?

I'm thinking those 41 are Flyers fans in denial.

:D

Sadly, those hoodlums are such an embarrassment to the city... Whenever someone asks about it, there's no explanation for it save for that there are attention seeking morons in this world who don't seem to care much about anything. I wish I can say it would never happen again, but I know I'd be wrong. Rioting Montrealers over Hockey goes as far back as 1955 when Rocket Richard was suspended during the playoffs.

I got my wish! :rock :rock

That one is amazing!

Boy, this next round sure looks promising. The Flyers and the Habs have lots of playoff history together. The Habs met the Flyers in the 1975/1976 stanley cup finals and were swept 4-0. The Flyers would have won three cups in a row had they defeated the Habs. Since then, the Habs and Flyers have met a few times... Does anyone remember that bench clearing brawl from the 80s? Or, when Hextall ran down Chelios for his hit on Poulin? Ah, good times... lol. I believe the Habs/Flyers playoffs matchups are tied at 2 wins a piece.

I still hate R.J. Umberger.

Is that you Vincent Lecavalier? (Ile Bizard) :)

Im calling bull____, no one places that bet, no one

No one was more surprised than Habs fans that they beat the Caps. After game 3, you should have heard the radio and TV buzz. People were ready to put a hit out on Martin. It was brutal. I had serious doubts too. However, in my hockey pool, I chose the Habs to beat the Caps in 6 and the Pens in 6. I was a bit off.

However, I was way off with the Flyers as I chose the Devils and the Bruins... Yeesh!

What seed you are clearly shows no relevancy in this playoff series.:exactly:

If the Habs lose, I'd actually love to see the Flyers win. There are very few real Hockey towns left. Very little irks me more than seeing teams like Carolina win the cup with empty seats in the stands... Philly would definitely appreciate the cup.

Actually the year the Canes won it a lot showed up and showed their support. I do believe they sold out those Final games in 06 like the good little bandwagon fans they are.

I call bull____ that you didn't see this thread until just recent, because it's one of the more busiest and active threads on the forums, and is usually on top of the Off Topic thread section, therefore you constantly see it on the latest posted thread section of the main page.

And I still think it's funny, especially since you're taking it so personally. :)

I may have seen you on other hockey forums then, since I am a member of those forums and have been for the past decade.

To think... The Habs were up 2 games to zip on Carolina that year in the playoffs. Then Cam Ward replaces Martin Gerber and then whammo, he pulls a Dryden type performance and wins the Conn Smythe and the cup. What a show.

Yeah and Weekes took over from Irbe, and then Irbe reclaimed his job in the 2002 Cup playoffs when they went to the Final. I loved that Canes team because it was led by my 2nd all-time favorite player, Ron "The Franchise" Francis.

One of the classiest players to play the game, better set up artists that the league has seen, and a great two-way pivot.

My condolences man, blowing a 3 game then 3 goal lead has to hurt. Losing Krejci turned the tables I think.
Flyers and the 94 Devils imitation will be an interesting series, I wonder if the Habs get down if it notorious fans will continue there support like they did against Washington...

I think you fail to understand that there are fans like that everywhere in all the major hockey market. I know you living in the home of the greatest team in the NHL it's a little maginified for you. But if you listen to Bruins radio, MSG radio, Team 1200 Ottawa and even Fan 590 Toronto then you'll know there are hundreds of calls like that after a bad game all the time. Except if you listen the Canucks radio you'll get people who don't know hockey talking about how they don't want to cheer for a losing team every year. A good fanbase is not base on bandwagoners because all cities have it. A good fan is loyalty to the city, team and good knowledge about the game of Hockey.

I might be living in Vancouver now but I've lived in many other places New York, Philly and so on and so on. It doesn't matter where I go I always cheer for my hometown team O-town baby 80+ years without a cup.

I agree. Also, this sort of reaction isn't reserved for Hockey. You'll find as avid fans of baseball, football, basketball and so on...

Following the loss to the Habs, the Caps media and fanbase were brutal. They aired snippets and read various headlines on the Team990.

Just in passing... I remember hearing that phonecall as it aired. He certainly wasn't the only one after Hamrlik's head. In fact, after that horrendous loss to the Caps, guns were a'blaizin' all over town... This is very normal in sports. It generally shows that the fans care. However, it also shows, sadly, that a lot of fans can't seem to understand that no team wins every night, and also, sometimes losses are where teams bond the most, learn the most, build character the most, and improve the most as a group.

All this to say that this caller isn't indicative of how the average Habs fan feels or reacts to a loss or player mistake,.
