Too bad about Tim Thomas. Sometimes it seems whenever a potentially good player signs the big contract, he never seems able to live up to the demands or expectations. I'd take a "top of his game" Thomas over Rask. Sadly, that player didn't seem to show up this year.

You probably wouldn't say that if you watched him every night in net. His flopping around cost the team numerous games over the last few years. Yeah, when it worked out it made for a great highlight reel piece, but most of the time it led to the red light going on.

Thomas is 36, 37 by next year's playoffs. I like Timmy and hope he gets shipped somewhere that will start him, since his time here is over. The writing was already on the wall after Scott Walker's softy last year on May 14(how fitting:mad:). Why Chiarelli gave him that contract is still puzzling.

My condolences man, blowing a 3 game then 3 goal lead has to hurt. Losing Krejci turned the tables I think.
Flyers and the 94 Devils imitation will be an interesting series, I wonder if the Habs get down if it notorious fans will continue there support like they did against Washington...

Tabarnac, sounds just like Boston sports radio. All you need to do is insert Julien and Wideman into the appropriate spaces of that guy's rant.

100% agree on Krejci he was the one making things happen scoring wise during the playoffs. After he left the offense went in the tank.

I can honestly say I don't remember in recent history a team coming back from a 3-0 deficit to win the series. WOW!

1975 sir. The Flyers are ready. What's amazing too is the fact that they have overcome so much crap. Injury wise I mean. Flyers!

Well my 2nd all time favorite team is/was the Habs so i'll be rooting for them. Still, i'm VERY impressed with the Flyers ............... some of the best 80's series involved the Habs vs the Flyers so this should be good.

Imo momentum is huge right now for the Flyers ............... going into a new series on fire is sometimes better than rest. On the other hand the Habs are doing exactly what the Oil did on 06'.

About 6 years ago. I liked being on this side of it though.

Hawks might have something to say about that.

Hawks Habs would make for an excellent final.

Credit to the Flyers for getting this far. However, let's be realistic, half the Bruins team was either injured or playing injured. The Flyers took full advantage and pounded the Bruins players into next week. At one point, I couldn't help but feel sorry for the abuse they were taking...

The Habs are a very different team. They have an excellent coaching staff and have demonstrated an exceptional ability to adapt to their opponent's strengths.

Imo the Habs have Halak as really the major factor in getting them to the finals. Not to say the rest of the team isn't significant (you need to score to win) but Halak is easily the difference ............ and a big one too. I'd say if he can stay focused they have a really good chance. However, from what i've seen in the playoffs, winning streaks can be dangerous! The Flyers are sitting at 4 straight and fresh to go with the Habs. Who needs rest in the playoffs? All Philly has to do is win 8 more games ............. trust me its not gonna be an easy series if Montreal does pull it off.

In the west i'm rooting for the Hawks and in the east, the Habs.

My thinking is that the President's trophy winner (the Caps) and last year's stanley cup winner (the Pens) likely went into the playoffs with more confidence than a team who just won four straight against a mentally and physically defeated team.

If the Flyers play Montreal with that same type of overconfidence and arrogance we saw at times with the Caps and Pens, they're in for a big surprise. The key to a Flyers victory is to take the Habs offence and defence seriously, which means hammer Cammalleri and Gionta at every opportunity, don't bother taking shots from the point as Gorges and Gill will block everything, set up most plays from behind the Habs net, and most importantly, run the net as much as possible as that appears to be the only way to rattle Halak. The Flyers can't play run and gun, nor can they hope to fool the habs defence with the long distance pass through the neutral zone. The Habs are faster and sleekier and they respond exceptionally well on the rush.

There has to be a Flyers system in place beyond just the physical. The Flyers have to stay out of the penalty box too. Let's not forget that the Habs were the second best team on the power play this season. For a long while, they were first place too. Discipline, discipline, discipline is vital. If the Flyers do that, they have a better chance of winning.

FLYERS!!!! What an awesome game, I'm still reeling from that experience. It was poetic how they came back from being down 3-0 in the game having been down that number in the series. Will not forget last night. Every year a cup is won, but that was something special. Now we need the cup! :rock

Where did all of these last minute posters come from? Bandwagonners! Now we see all of these Habs fans in spades. Only two rounds people!
