The Washington Capitals acquired winger Troy Brouwer from the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night in exchange for the 26th overall pick in the first round.

Not sure how I feel about this, passing up young talent for a guy with a bum shoulder...hmm.....

That's who I wanted the Jets to take, but instead they drafted some no name kid who was not even ranked in the top 12 at No. 7 overall because Dale Hawerchuk, an ex-Jet who coached the kid said he was going to be something special over the best available pick at the time, which was Sean Couturier. So we get a guy who isn't NHL ready for a few years vs. one who is now, and a guy who could have given us instant star impact which I believe Sean to be that guy. Ugh. Way to go drafting because of roots vs. drafting for the best available player in the draft at time. Typical old Jets mentality. Ugh. btw Ducky, Dale Hawerchuk's nick name for those who don't know his nickname, actually forced a trade to happen in 1990. So yeah, love that move Chevy and Zinger.

Though I am far from a fan I think the panthers had a pretty good draft. Also, the thought of a stick wizard like Jurco on detroit is a scary thought.
