no it won't bite me in the ass. if he plays good then we win. if he plays bad i can say "i told ya so". either way, i win.

How can you tell me, "I told you so." even if he does slump? That's silly. This hot streak should be a reminder of how good he can be when he needs to be. Not many guys come from a huge slump like that and turn around and become the exact opposite the way he has. It's almost unheard of. A true testament of the guy's character and will to succeed. It takes most players a lot longer to regain their confidence. He did it over night, and now he's currently the best goalie in the hockey world in the past 13 games. Every good player goes through slumps. Even the very best. So I don't get the logic there. Point is he's the hottest goalie commodity right now, and he's had two Stanley Cup Finals, a Stanley Cup win, a game he was credited for help winning the Cup, and he was a Team Canada selection. Oh, and a former 1st overall selection. He is a stud. If you actually saw some of the games where he's pelted with shots and the saves he has had to make in some of these games, you would know that.

You don't win. You lose. hehe

Hopefully the Caps can continue the losing streak so the "frowning marshmallow" behind the bench can be replaced with an actual NHL level coach who knows how make adjustments and have a team play anything that resembles a system.

Hey Fisto, your team is still very dangerous. This is just a mini slump. They aren't that far behind the 1st overall team in the league, so don't threat. There is also still 50+ games of hockey left to play before the playoffs. You people and your premature positions. hehe

at least when the Caps are losing you can still listen to Beninati say "He fires and SCOOOOOORES!!!!! Ovechkin rips the roof." i gotta listen to the 2 penguins cheerleaders talk about how great every single player on the team is and how they wanna make love to crosby over and over. seriously, everytime someone makes a great play they say "We really are witnessing something truly special with this organization. How lucky are we that we get to watch all this talent over the years? And now we get to watch Sid every night, and he just keeps getting better and better. something magical happens everytime he gets the puck."

it's like that over and over for 3 hours.

So the Pens homers sound just like the rest of the NHL? :rotfl

And Eli - Talk to me about the Caps when you watch them play every game. Their problem isn't talent. It's coaching. They have NO system to speak of. They play like a bunch of individuals instead of a team. The star players NEVER show up for pratice and the coach won't make practice MANDITORY which they NEED right now. These guys come out and get shut out and then the next 2 practices are "optional"....It's a joke.

The Pens fired their coach after going to the finals in the middle of the following season and they won a cup.

I wasn't aware of the fact they were skipping practices.. Jagridis.

And Craw, get over yourself. So you're upset that the commentators who are part of the Pens organization are selling a product that one is paying them good wages and something as fans they believe in, because the Pens are every bit as good as advertised. Two Cup Finals in the last 3 playoffs, and now they are the 1st overall team with close to the best +/- in the league, and currently riding an insanely hot streak. Would you rather they say, yeah our team is the ____s, and they are lucky or, we'll see how long this their winning ways will last, or questioning how they can still do it without Malkin and Staal in the lineup. People complain no matter how good things get it seems. lol

I for one am ecstatic when I hear good things about the team, because that means they are playing very well. Nothing wrong with positive attitude, even if it is a bit sugar coated. I mean, can you blame the lovin' this team gets? Great teams get tons of attention. Several years ago, I seemed to be the only one that wore a Pens jersey to hockey arenas and I would get ridiculed for it. So call me happy and fortunate that I stuck through a bad half decade to witness one heckuva great hockey club!

People will make their own choices. Learn to accept it, even if it is sheepish of them to follow a team for winning. Atleast I can say this era didn't make me a fan. I have been a Pens fan for 20 years. This has been a great payoff for the crap years. WOOHOO! :yess:

honestly, i find it sickening to listen to those 2. i watch lots of hockey games from a variety of different teams and these 2 guys are some of the worst. my favorite thing they did this year was when they were complaining about a stoppage in play. they were so taken aback by this so called unusual stoppage of play that they didn't realize the ____in' PERIOD WAS OVER!!! that's right. the period ended. they were so busy praising sid the kid that they didn't even know the period was over. what a joke.

AMEN to that, he needs to go and he needs to go now. He has no control over the team and has little to no respect from the players.

Agreed. I hate to see anyone fired, but in this case it's time. I credit BB for comig in and helping turn the team around and letting the offense actualy play offense unlike Hanlon, but he's lost the team and it's showing. They don't listen to him anymore and once it gets to that point it's time for a coach to move on.

Yea he has no control or respect from Ovi, I mean BB says(example) our line shifts are gonna be targeted for "X" amount of time and that includes Ovi, yet he's regularly out there on the ice till he feels tired and wants a change. When you lose your star player/captain you've lost the team.

If they keep losing hes gone before the winter classic, still gives them time to turn it around

Problem is the GM and owner are idiots too. All they will do is promote their 4th straight AHL level coach.

so Bobby Ryan of the Ducks lost his stick so he picked up an opponents stick on the ice and then scored a goal with it. and it was the wrong handed stick. that's awesome.

Kit Fisto, something that Dobber a writer for The Hockey News posted. What do you think?

It's obvious that Bruce Boudreau is changing his coaching style for better success in the playoffs. Less run-and-gun, more responsibility and better defense. But this team isn't built for defense (and adding Scott Hannan ain't gonna change that). I guess the team is hoping that a weaker regular season playing a better system will result in better playoff results. I don't think it will. I think their old style was perfect - they failed the first year because of inexperience. They failed last year because of Halak. Don't quit on what was so successful during the regular season just because of that.

Okay, now that is bad. I actually been witness to some bad commentary of hockey games at the AHL level. I am more of an AHL fan so I sometimes will watch Moose games on TV if they air them on the local Shaw or MTS Network. They would get facts wrong. Pronounce player names incorrectly. Confuse a guy's name with somebody else, and would use the over done, "he shoots, he scores!" Who does that anymore? He shoots, he scores? That's so old and lame. Especially when that's how you explain every goal, and it's all done in a monotone voice.

I guess I can't really fight you on this Craw because I don't get to watch Pens game through their local source. Unfortunately I don't have Center Ice and I only catch my Pens when they air them on CBC (Canada's version of ABC), TSN (Canada's version of ESPN), and on occasion, Sports Net. Ummm, equivalent to Fox Sports? I dunno. lol

you should get Center Ice. you could be watching over 5 hours of hockey every night.:google

Lets see...

1. Already a season ticket holder with the Moose which costs me in the hundreds. Okay, more-so the family since it's usually an added Christmas deal.

2. Lots of hockey during the week through the aforementioned options/networks.

3. Center Ice isn't cheap and I already am in deep with my Mexico trip and the collectibles I order.

4. Time is not something I'll have again on January 4th when I go back to school. School, the gym, and my social life eat up whatever free time I have. Oh, and that other thing, sleep. If I even can fit that in. lol So 5 hours of hockey a night unfortunately is not a luxury I can afford right now.

But in a perfect world, I would love to have Center Ice and be able to watch as many hockey games as I can without any of the aforementioned things in my list being effected.

I do go out of my way and make certain I catch the Pens on TV every time they show the games here.

Question: When does Winnipeg get itself back on the NHL map? They are expanding the press box in the MTS Centre and it sounds like they will upgrade to a larger seating capacity. How that will be accomplished is anyone's guess since they can't build out. They have a billionaire backing them and are currently the only team in the AHL to have an organization that takes flights via a personal jet. Everything seems to be adding up for what could be the inevitable. Especially with so many Southern-based NHL clubs suffering. The Canadian dollar ultimately being much stronger than in 1996 when the Jets left, which is also a factor. This time the owners of the new team will also own the building. Where as the Jets were leasing through Winnipeg Enterprises and didn't make any money back in concessions.

It's not really a matter of if anymore, but more-so a matter of when. Unfortunately I don't like the turn of events taking place here, since I love the much cheaper and fan friendly AHL ticket pricing. The product to me is nearly as good as the NHL level. After all, 85 percent of the NHL is made up of former AHL alumni.

Thoughts?

as soon as the NHL realizes that nobody likes hockey down south where the hicks and yokels are obsessed with football and don't even know what snow looks like. then maybe you'll get your jets back.
