It wasn't a dirty hit. It's just unfortunate that the hit took place where it did. Do you really think it was Chara's intent to drive his head into the stanchion? He has no history of dirty play and I don't think he'd intentionally do this.

I just saw that they said it was his C4, which is scary as hell. As the old saying goes "c4 and breathe no more". This could have been a real tragedy on the ice and shows how dangerous this game can be.

I think he meant to hurt him, which means Chara is guilty of one thing only, being a despicable human being. Unfortunatlely it was in the context of the game and dont think he should have been suspended either.

With the speed of the game I truly think that he was just making a hockey play and there was no malice. Of course this could be my Bruins blinders up. I want to believe that it wasn't intentional.

Of course the only person who can answer this definitively is Zdeno Chara and he's already given the media his cookie cutter response.

I don't blame Habs fans for being pissed, it's the natural reaction when something happens to a player on your team. I was up in arms about the Cooke hit on Savard last year and the broken back Savard got from Steve Begin a few years ago.

I would have said the same thing about his intentions, but when he sticks his arm out, looks like he is trying to crush his head on the turn buckle.

I do hope he is alright and does play again

I have to say the hit produced some nasty results..do i think it was dirty?..hard to tell..nah..i've seen this happend in the past, just guys today are bigger stronger and wear f'king armor now.

LOL @ Montreal fans and Air Canada..If this happend to a Boston or hell even a Toronto player you would not see/hear such rivers.

Disagree totally, if this happened in TO, there would be same outcry. Only difference would be Burke/Wilson and MLSE who have reacted alot harsher than those marshmellows in Mtl

But ya, MTL fans/Air Canada/the police, what a joke

There might be a protest at the Bell Centre next week :slap

All these late in the season Habs fans, go watch Dancing with the Stars

It's just bordering on the theater of the absurd at this point. I listened to Team 990 most of the day, just sheer lunacy coming from their fan base. Chara may not have been suspended, but the referees are on him hard already. He made a clean hit on someone who slid 10 feet to the boards, of course they call boarding.

You should've heard some of the Habs fans calling in on WEEI today. :lol :lol

Me to, I was in the car all day listening to it, some of these ginos are just pure idiots.

Actually some of the calls they got from Boston fans were quite intelligent, and the insiders that do call always have something insightful. Francois Gagnon got me to change my view of the non suspension

That was a great game today. I had slept on the Caps for quite a while, but maybe this is the year they have everything together to make a real run.

The Dennis Wideman playing today wasn't what I remember seeing from him in the regular season last year. He did hit a stride in the playoffs though. Good for him escaping the hockey Siberia in Sunrise.
