I don't believe in Detroit enough or their goaltending to get it done.

Player wise they are the deepest team in hockey, not sure what else they need to do for you to believe :lol

Goalie is suspect though, but so is every other team's goalie except for 1 > Rangers :yess:

Might as well throw out playoff predictions.

East
Caps over Rags in 6
Sabres over Flyers in 7
B's over Habs in 5
Pens over Bolts in 6

Caps over Sabres in 6
Pens over B's in 7 :)wave Claude Julien this was your last shot)

Caps over Pens in 6

West
Canucks overs Hawks in 5
Kings over Sharks in 7
Wings over Coyotes in 5
Ducks over Preds in 6

Canucks over Kings in 6
Ducks over Wings in 7

Ducks over Canucks in 6

Stanley Cup
Caps over Ducks in 7

Of course I could be wrong about all of this and the Bruins will be riding duckboats in June and I'd be totally okay with that.

I don't like Howard or his backups at all and depth wise there are a few teams I like more. I just don't see Detroit winning it.

I agree they are weak in net, but in the other positions I think they are deeper and more playoff tried, tested and proven then anyone. The only team that can match their depth imo is Philly.

really your predicting kings over sharks in 7.....:thud:

I'm not saying that they will, but they do tend to not play well this time of year. Some of their "stars" are not a fan of getting hit and takes them right out of the game.

Another team I like and riding a hot streak is the Sabres who are 8-1-1 in the past 10 games making them the NHL's hottest commodity in that span, and 30-11-6 since late December. This is a team that could and should go very far if the cards fall in the right places. Health and size is a concern. They are a small team (only Montreal is as small as them) and they have one of the biggest band aid boys around in Tim Connolly and they need a healthy Jordan Leopold as he adds a presence on the PP. They need strong goaltending and others to chip in offensively. Nathan Gerbe has been lighting it up at the right time. Tyler Ennis' game has improved vastly in the 2nd half (41-10-20-30) and Thomas Vanek has been a one man wrecking crew since the All-Star break.

Don't get me wrong I love Detroit, but something has to give. I seen Jimmy Howard choke a lot in the AHL playoffs, and my Moose played him a lot, heck he knows me and my buddies well. We made a Howard the Duck sign which he acknowledged and commented on. I know all about his game and then there is Thomas McCollum and Joey MacDonald who got lit up as a tandem during a St. Louis game 10-3, the worst defeat the Wings have seen in years.

The team is getting older, and I just don't see them making the Final with so many teams that are younger, faster, and just more primed for a good run, like your Vancouver and Anaheims. Even Chicago may make some noise. Can not discount the reigning Cup Champs.

Props to Fleury tonight, played an awesome 1st period

I've got

West - Van>Chi, Ducks>Preds, LA>Sharks, Detroit>Phoenix

- LA>Van, Detroit>Ducks

- Detroit>LA

East - Wash>Rangers, Philly>Buff, Bruins>Montreal, Pens>TB

- Pens>Wash, Philly>Bruins

- Philly>Pens

Cup - Philly>Detroit

My west picks somewhat late, but I would have picked the Wings anyway
Wings
Hawks
Kings
Preds

I absolutely hate the graphic ads behind the nets on the Washington telecast. I'm shocked Jeremy Jacobs hasn't added similar eyesores to Bruins telecasts yet.
