He deserves a good beat down. Guy has some radical opinions.

He deserves to be assaulted because he doesn't support your leftist views? Interesting. I'm sure if that if a conservative said something similar then he'd be accused of hate speech.........oh wait, Thomas already was.

You, Tim Thomas, the President of Chik-Fil-A, and everybody else are absolutely entitled to your opinions. The thing is that people don't exist in a vacuum, and neither do their opinions. If Tim Thomas wants to use his facebook page as a forum to spout his political beliefs, that's his right, but you can't expect the people that disagree with those beliefs to not voice their opposition. What bothers me is when people hide behind the idea of freedom of speech by saying "I'm allowed to express my opinion," but then complain whenever anybody offers a conflicting opinion, as if by holding an opposing opinion yours is somehow negated. People that disagree with Thomas have just as much to voice thier beliefs as he does, as long as it doesn't become harrasment. When you're a celebrity your voice reaches more people, and you have influence, but you also become a lightning rod for opposition. It's all part of the whole "freedom of speech" thing, and if nobody was allowed to disagree it wouldn't work. - Taken for truth.

I am just having fun Kit, but seriously, you need to join in the beat down you homophobe! :nana:

;)

Where did I say u can't express an opinion? He can and so can you, bit when you call for people to be "beaten down" for their beliefs then you cross a line. Also "homophobe" is a made up word. I don't fear or hate gay people at all. I just don't support laws that I personally feel tear at the fabric of morality in society. People can disagree with me and I respect their right to do so, but they, in many cases don't respect my right to believe what I do and they call names and want to threaten violence over it.

I was having fun....I am not a violent person. You don't know me!!! And I thought you knew me! *runs off*

Like I care what Tim Thomas says... I am just padding the thread's post count. We need to catch to the NBA thread... they are beating us!!!

Will they or won't they start the season on time?
That is the question...

I have no confidence in them starting on time. I hope I'm wrong. The league is in a better place right now than it was last time, hopefully the owners don't mess up a good thing.

While that is indeed important and makes the second matter relevant, when the ____ is Shane Doan going to make up his bloody mind?

Bank on there being no season at all. To many immovable objects fighting this one out, ie Buttface and Fear

If their is no season at all then the NHL may as well fold up it tents. Many will just walk away.

No they won't.... league revenue went up from the last lock out.

I don't see that happening. Many leagues go through this. But yes, the NHL needs to fix this long term. Almost every ten years it seems we have a stoppage of some sort. Before we didn't. Hmmmm, wonder why... greed perhaps?

Agreed. Sports dead already to non hardcore fans, casual fans probably won't/don't know what's going on with the NHL. :(

Ratings have been steadily on the rise and the league has a $2 billion dollar TV contract. The NHL and hockey are far from dead.

Also revenue went up from 500,000,000 pre lock out to 3,000,000,000 post. Those numbers were taken from 2010, and apparently they are even greater, today! Yes, far from dead. Some hockey markets have surpassed the other sports in their cities. Yes, that includes some US cities. And if not surpassed, sure coming close to matching the bigger ones. Yes, there are fledging franchises out there, but no different than any other major sports league. Just do what the NFL, NBA, and MLB did... relocate. Quebec City, Hamilton, and Seattle look like great prospective outlets for successful thriving hockey markets.

People need to clue in... NHL is stronger than it has ever been. Not to mention how much it's growing in Europe and even places like Asia. Canada need no mention.

I will say this, once upon a time I was right there with Kit Fisto and Bumble Bee on the very thought a full season lock out would end the game... I had people around me swear off the NHL, including myself. All it did was make fans miss it more.

If the last lock out taught us anything, it sure as heck didn't kill interest. lol If anything it helped! Oddly enough, it did!

Eli, yes, people will walk away if they miss another entire season. sorry if you don't agree, but they will.
