Wow Semin averaged 29 hits and 16 blocked shots per season. lol

He's definitely one dimensional. So if he doesn't score, he's pretty much useless.

So it looks like Semin will be signing a one year deal with Pitt, they are going to be dangerous again next year if they can get decent goaltending.

Decent is attainbable just bench Fleury and put Bylsma in nets, cant worse...

Nice deal for the Rangers.

Rick Nash for Brandon Dubinksy, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon, and a 1st round pick in 2013.

A more-than capable 30-40 goal, 60-80 point power forward for a late pick in the 1st round, a depth dman, a Russian 2nd liner at best, but so far looks like a third liner, and a streaky American forward.

They had to... they lost Suter, and losing Weber hurts their chances of being competitive in the West.

Sure they have Ekholm, Elllis, and a bunch of other kids waiting in the wing, but none of them are proven. Their hand was forced.... he's their best player. What would you rather they do? Let him walk and damage the moral of the team and its fans...

No, I agree they did what they had to do. Not doing so probably would have crippled the franchise and the strides they've made in the community. It's just surprising that a franchise known for its frugality went ahead and matched a pretty huge contract.

As for Philly... they let Carle go, Pronger is probably done, Timonen himself has said he's on his last legs, they're rolling the dice on Schenn and now they don't have Weber.

Timonen - Coburn
Meszaros - Schenn
Grossmann - Gustafsson
Bourdon/Manning

Gonna be fun to see that d-corps in front of Bryz.:rotfl

That's a decent D, but one that can be beaten by stronger teams. I am not a Flyers fan so I don't care.

Loving Pittsburgh's defence going into the future:

Kris Letang
Brooks Orpik
Matt Niskanen
Simon Despres
Joe Morrow
Brian Dumoulin
Derrick Pouliot
Olli Maatta
Scott Harrington
Robert Bortuzzo
Brian Strait
Carl Sneep
Paul Martin *eeesh Will be gone once one or two guys graduate. That day can't come any sooner.

Shane Doan could be a Ranger or Wing within the next 10 days.

Please don't be a Ranger. Please don't be a Ranger.

Do they even have the cap room now?
