Jump to conclusions? Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black! You just jumped all over American posters assuming they haven't been up on hockey and were only paying attention to the WJC when the Americans won.
You don't know what other sites and forums other people are checking. I'm on the Devils forum every day, but I don't come announcing it to everyone on a forum about toys.

I am always on HF... I am a regular on there. This gives me special powers. Anyway, I must go now and generate my super human hockey knowing powers.... you may talk to my sidekick SMDG, (I dumped Ringer's ***!) in my absence... he'll field any whines, critiques, or diaper wetting issues you may have.

Eli26 away! *wooosh*

SMDG, Brian Bellows... awesome.

I'm sure SMDG loves being your sidekick since you're such an authority on hockey.
I know we lost Parise for in your words, "Nada", but we're in excellent shape if the cap goes down under the new agreement. I would worry about your Pens if I were you. Scratch that. Pens are always in good shape when they need to tank for high draft picks.

SMDG, Brian Bellows... awesome.

I'll give you Steve Payne, Tom Mccarthy and goalie Gilles Meloche. ;)

OH LOOK! All the Yanks come in and say their ****... Convenient to jump in and talk now.... same with CC. Still lots of hockey going on... Very convenient. What I love about SMDG is he's continuously here supporting the hockey thread. He can gloat more than the rest of you convenient ****faces! :nana:

Anyway I really gotta go and get to the gym. You guys can tear me a new one when I get back in a few hours. BRING IT!

I'm not gloating at all....I find hockey boring and cannot watch it. Just my opinion and probably because I'm from the South and it wasn't a sport in my youth.

I just couldn't resist the opportunity to post a "STFU Eli" post.:rotfl

Fine and accepted and he is my sidekick and I am an authority on hockey!

Then you agree! Well, since we have that settled. You may now bow before my greatness.

Man, the Wild are going to be such a sick team when the NHL resumes.

Nice dig. The Wild are going to be awesome what with Koivu, Parise, Suter, Palmieri, Foster, uh, hmmm....... oh and Setoguchi is a shootout master and Heatley well, he's awesome and a great locker room leader.

I'm also excited to see what Mikael Granlund and Charlie Coyle can do.

Anyone who knows the situation with Dany Heatley, knows he has been a great addition to the team. Is he earning his pay grade? No, but is it from a lack of trying? Again, no. He has given his all.... just playing hurt the last couple of years. It has been well documented he has played with a bum wrist and leg... but whatever. Also, lockeroom presence... Need to move on from his Ottawa days. Nobody has ever said he was a Cancer in Minnesota. Also, not a dig. Again, you assumed I didn't like Brodeur. However, if you read this thread you know I am a huge advocate of the guy. I am a Devils fan (thus my nick), more-so I like the Pens because of Mario Lemieux and Ron Francis. Now Crosby and Malkin. And now assuming I am digging.

No, I am moving along. That and my sidekick SMDG is from the area. So I was more partial to that.... vs. making a dig to get at you. I already did get to you. So mission accomplished!

And yeah, the Wild have nothing. You also forgot to mention Brodziak, one of the top hitters and energy players in Clutterbuck, PM Bouchard, Cullen, and Spurgeon, who's actually great on the PP. Smart positionally sound diminutive defenseman. Rarely is caught out of position and while small, is fast and mobile and uses other means to take a forward off of his game. Like cutting down scoring lanes and takeaways.

You also failed to mention Minnesota's wealth of prospects which consist of many high-end kids like Charlie Coyle, Mikael Granlund, Jonas Brodin, and Matt Dumba. Also other quality prospects in Jason Zucker who is playing lights out for their AHL affiliate, Chris Phillips, and Matt Hackett.

In a couple years we'll see how funny it is to make fun of that team. They have a lot of good quality players now, and great young players coming up from the pipe line. I am ecstatic! :)

If I come off as a hockey authority it's because I am confident in my hockey knowledge. If you're misinformed on something, I'll correct you. You can correct me as well...

Don't hate...

Anyway, I hope this NHL deal gets done. C'mon guys.... don't have the NHLPA disperse, it's only going to get uglier.

P.S. I'll add. I said it already, but I'll say it again. I find it really cool that a guy from the New Mexico area is such a fan of the game. I think that's awesome! So moving along from our quibble and making the thread about us... lets discuss how great Jacob Trouba and Seth Jones look for the US! I am so happy Winnipeg drafted Trouba. His progression as a player in the NCAA and what we have seen from him in the World Junior's is awesome. I am so stoked to see him in Jet colours. And here I called bloody murder. A reach... Still not big on Mark Scheifele. Much rather have Sean Couturier.

Don't forget the prospects we have before flushing the Devils down the toilet as a result of Parise splitting: Merrill, Wedgewood, Kinkaid, Scarlett, Matteau, Pietila, Burlon, Gelinas, etc etc.

I did bring up Reid Boucher. He's my favourite Devils prospect. It would have been Jon Merrill, but he concerns me. Missing nearly two years in development is going to cost him dearly. I liken your goalie prospect more than my home team's starter... lol

Eli is wrong IMO, this USA team is a better team then Canada and Phil Housley and staff have done a great job with managing their lines effectively against Canada, Canada was plain sloppy and unorganized(poor Subban) and Canada only beat US by one goal the first match then got raped in game two..US is better but, i think Sweden is going to be more of a match tomorrow.

You find hockey boring but, you watch a sport that is heavily infected with religion and showboating, Football players are dumb compared to NHL players..straight dumb mutha's with their ghetto ****,criminals, point to the sky, dance like a sissy alone into the end zone for the touchdown dance...i like some of the highlight catches in CFL/NFL but, the culture in that sport stinks.

Correct me how I am wrong? It's called having an opinion and many would share it. I talk to a few American fans and they agree, Canada has a deeper team and do they have the best player in the tournament.. Well, recognized NHL talent. He showed it the four games leading up to the US game, not-so-much in that game.... Having said that, the best team doesn't always win. It's not just about the players. It's morale, emotion, player system, and coaching tactics. I agree, Canada was sloppy. Oh, and I was always higher on Gibson vs. Subban.

A guy's ramblings who I trust as much as mine, and made some sound points... couldn't have said it better myself, so I won't. I'll just quote the man.

Sleeper of the game: Connor Murphy. Solid in his own end, great stick, eliminated offense before it happened. Bench management by Phil Housley, who had his team prepared, rolled his lines and stayed with the game plan of keeping his guys disciplined and focused, can't be overlooked. He turned an emotional game into a routine one, and that is no easy task at the WJC. I've seen the other side of that many times in this event. - Jeff Angus
