This past month Fleury: 5 GP - 1.67 GAA - .964 SP

Murray: 7 GP - 2.81 GAA - .913 SP

Why don't you post last years playoff stats? Or his historical stats in the post season? We both know his days are numbered, still a serviceable goalie in this league, but don't for a contender

He has a great record for the past 11 years. Tops for regular season and playoffs combined. Either No. 1 or 2 in playoffs alone in that period of time for wins... so he can't be doing that bad. He helped the Pens through the regular season, and got concussed. He missed over a month of hockey and got thrown into the lion's cage and allowed 4 goals... what do you expect? He's got rust and he's playing in the ECF against a very good TB team. Hardly can be faulted for that. That and you can't tell Murray, btw you got us through two rounds of hockey, now Fleury's back you can sit out the rest of the playoffs. The past two years prior wasn't Marc-Andre's fault either. Both fans and the team know it was the team in front of him, Crosby playing poorly, poor defence and one of those playoffs Malkin went 6-0-0-0... but no talk from you about those guys not playing well. Hmmm...

Yes, Fleury knows he's the odd man out. He's 10 years older than Murray and makes 2.25m US more. He stumbled out of the gate because he was nervous. Hard to play when you know your numbers are up in Steel Town. He's made a home in the Burgh and loves playing there. His family loves it there. His kid(s) are born there. He loves his teammates and his team and why not, they are one of the best teams around. He has it good. Can't blame the guy. But then eventually a reality set in and around February his game began to turn around as he got the monkey off his back. He knows he'll be on a new team next year. I know this as well, but it's not being an apologist. It's about knowing and having empathy. Not just looking at the surface stuff there kiddo. :)

The logical thing to do now is get Fleury off the books, free up the cash to resign Schultz, which you know JR intends to do. In a cap world being this tight against the ceiling they can't keep both guys. But it's nice having two starters come this Spring, and JR said this... but what does he know... DeezNutz knows better. ;)

Anyway no more Fleury talk. Pipe down DeezNutz. Don't be a one track pony!

Also I have a Flames/Penguins Final. Pittsburgh for reasons I don't need to go into. Of course this only works if they are healthy.

Calgary because they have 4 scoring lines. They are scoring by committee, their 4th line has 20 goals and their 3rd line has nearly 40. The MMM (Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik) line has been one of the hottest lines since the 2017 Calendar year, and Gaudreau and Monahan have been on fire of late. Their defence runs deep, arguably the deepest in the West.... and yes I realize Chicago and Minnesota can make their argument. Hamilton, Giordano, Brodie, Stone, Wideman, Engelland, and Kulak anyone? Their goaltending has been solid, and Elliott has been red hot. Johnson is no slouch either. He'll get going again. And they got some meanness to them now.

I will always be the Number 1 Buffy fan.

Just messin with you bro, Not trying to best a dead horse either

Interesting take on Calgary and I'd love to see that happen for Canada, my picks are Chicago against Columbus. I'd love to see Pitt go back to back, just think they have to many deep injuries, Daley, letang, malkin, even Hagelin

Again, the Penguins win it if the team is healthy. I think they said Hagelin will be back by season's end as well Daley. No word yet, but Malkin could play tonight (he's listed as day-to-day), and Letang should be ready for the playoffs.

Kris Letang has been skating and making some progress, according to coach Mike Sullivan.
"They're going through the process they've been going through to rehab," said Sullivan referring to injured defenders Letang and Olli Maatta. Letang hasn't played since Feb. 21 because of an upper-body injury. - Rotoworld.

Then there's Guentzel. He could be ready as well. But keep in mind the Pens won without Jake and Daley. This year we also have the evolution of a few kids, like Sheary and Rust up front, and Schultz on D. Ruhwedel has looked good in the increased minutes he's received since these injuries started piling up. We also have Streit, Hainsey, and Corrado added to the roster. Making this arguably the deepest D we have had since the Crosby/Malkin era started. This leaves me to believe we are the favourite to win it. Plus both goalies are healthy and playing well. I am not worried about today. I feel come Game 1 of the First Round, the Pens will be looking good.

Chaps his ass, no I am the No. 1 Buffy Fan!

If the Pens don't make it out of the East, I hope the Caps do... I actually like the Caps. It's the Flyers I can't stand. That and maybe we'll get a rest from Kit Fisto's whines... that might be worth them winning it all right there.

Teams I would like to see win in this order...

Pens, Flames, and then Caps. Minnesota would be neat to see them win it... then Bruce will no longer be looked as how Deeznutz looks at Fleury. That time I brought it up. But seriously, no more Flower talk. lol

Caps :lol

If the Ovechkin era does not end after this year then I don't know what to say. It's not all on him, but this team is NOT built for the playoffs and never has been.

A win is a win, it's one game and they won without the bigger guns

I'm telling you this is their year to at least make the cup final

You know Marc-Andre Fleury has actually been good his last two playoff outings. He wasn't the person to blame for those exits. The team in front of him was. And maybe Disco Dan and our lack of depth compared to what we had the past two seasons. I don't count last Spring because of reasons I have explained before.

Also why I love having two quality guys in net. btw Fleury has outplayed Matt Murray the last few months. He realized his role with the team and the potential fate. I think he sucked in the Fall and early Winter due to the passing of the torch (again, no fault of his own).... he was hurt, Murray was fantastic last Spring and it makes sense... kid is 10 years younger and over 2 million cheaper. Even this MAF fan supports this, but I also knew how important it was that we kept him, because Murray is a bandaid boy and has been inconsistent. But more importantly, a bandaid boy. He's been injured 3-4 times this season. Some injuries have been day-to-day and others week-to-week. My only fears are we can't keep Fleury and his 5.75m, and with another bandaid boy in Kris Letang, we need Justin Schultz resigned for insurance. That and he has been our best defenseman this season, even when Tanger was healthy. So we need to free up that cash. But for hyperbole sake, what if we didn't have Flower and we had some other kid now... this is what scares me. I like Murray's upside as a starter, but fear his constant knack for getting hurt.

I know I can't get credit for this, but a friend asked me who he should take... guys who might have big playoffs that you wouldn't expect. I was thinking Justin Williams and Tom Wilson ... and of course those two get 3 goals combined. And it's only 1 game. Just found it amusing.

But I also had the Flames making the Final. They need to be better and find a way to win in Anaheim, where they seem to have difficulty.

Eli, you were thinking Tom Wilson and his zero career playoff goals and coming off a 7 goal season? Sure you were. Williams is understandable, but Wilson? Please.....

Yes Jason, I make up stupid **** all the time. I have better things to do than to lie about that.

Wilson isn't far from breaking out. He's a former mid-1st round draft pick. In my conversation with my friend I thought he could be a guy who breaks out in these playoffs. After all, he's a power forward and those guys take longer tobreak out. I mean I doubt it, but he can definitely be a Ruslan Fedotenko or a Fernando Pisani type, who comes out of no where and has a big playoffs.

I also have the Flames in the Final and they have a horrible track record against Anaheim and are down 0-1, so "PLEASE"....

btw DeezNutz, how about the Flower? 70 saves in two games. :)
