Not whining. Just facts. It's gone on since Mario was a Pen. Don't worry, when Cindy retires the NHL will fix another draft so the Pens get another generational player.
Yes, of course, you are right. After all, everything on the web is gospel. Did you know that the NHL is going to change the rules so that the Stanley Cup champ gets to pick first from now on? The Pens will have all the best talent for the foreseeable future. It's going to be awesome. They fixed the draft to get Cindy to the Pens so Mario wouldn't follow thru with his fake threat to move the team.team .
And I'm not even mentioning the Chokitals here. The NHL favors the Pens and pretty much anyone, but a Pens fan can see it. There are discussions all over the Web about it, but it must just be jealousy

The point is that when fans all over the league talk about it, then there is something to it. When you're on the receiving end of the blessings then of course all is right with the world for you.
That is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard
Fans on the Internet are talking about it..... Wow
I wouldn't say during Mario's playing days (I watched a lot of those games and I would say that part is bogus), but yes fans have talked about the perceived calls that the Penguins seem to get in their favour.
But the supposed call that Nashville scored in Game 6 was called before it entered the net. Predator players like Rinne, even admitted that it was the ref's angle he saw it at and the speed of the game... and as Deez had pointed out there were 4 penalties called against the Pens, zero to Nashville. Now the argument could have been made that it should have been reviewed. Excuse me if I am not mistaken, but I was on the can when that part took place, but did Pat ask for a coach's challenge? I just heard it from the distance. I did look back at it. Just not certain if there was a coach's challenge used on it.
And let's not forget the Penguins own the two best centermen in the game. Since 06/07 (Malkin's rookie season), the two best players for point-per-game are Crosby at 1 and Geno at 2. Then there is that amazing supporting cast, a superstar winger in Kessel, a sensational rookie in Guentzel who's an emerging star in his own right, a talented top-sixer in Sheary, a physical body in Hornqvist who has a nose for the net, a gritty player in Rust who can score timely goals, a solid 3rd line C in Bonino who could make it as a 2C on some teams, and a great 4th line C in Cullen who is a warrior... how many 4th line C's average 15 goals and over 30 points at 39 and 40? Only one. In fact he's the only 4th liner I know who produces those numbers. The reason the Pens are better these past two years vs the several years prior... an actual talented bottom six, and much more talented wingers for Sid and Geno to play with. So not surprising this team is good. Whether you can make the argument the NHL favours the Penguins, are we to assume that the quality of players they possess have nothing to do with that success? There is only so much help from refs a team can get to have back-to-back Cup wins. Or else we would seen Penguin titles every year.
And help from Lemieux's days.. oh yes, all those injuries.... the NHL sure protected him. Or for Crosby. Or those times the Pens had early exits. Nobody lays claims to this bogus crap until the team does well. Why? Oh right, because it's convenient. But there have been iffy calls ... absolutely. In the end, do I like how that Game 6 played out. Not entirely. I would have like to see that goal count for Nashville. My empathetic brain can see why Nashville or other fans would be upset. But I still see the Pens winning it. They are too good at home, even if they hypothetically lost that game in Nashville on the premise that the goal counted.
And as for bad calls... there have been bad calls against all teams. Even the Penguins. I have watched enough Pittsburgh games to see it. I also have seen it against the Jets in my hometown.
And as for the NHL rigging games. Maybe there is some truth to it... I mean there is Gelinas who seemingly scored a goal that could have led to a Flames Stanley Cup victory in 2004. If that is the case, then pretty much every Final and Stanley Cup has been rigged since Bettman has come in.
Bettman did become Commish in February of 1993. The same year the Montreal Canadiens won a Stanley Cup... Canada's last Cup. Maybe us Canadian fans should say every American team that makes it to the Final are rigged as well. And if the NHL is so rigged, then why do we even watch hockey? And I am sure the same claim has been made to the other professional sports leagues.
But there definitely has been talk made about it. It's usually made by fickle fans who's teams haven't won it. But then again, I did say that about the Lightning when they beat the Flames. So Kit Fisto is right, there are people who on the internet that believe the game is fixed.

Guess they should only talk about it person......you clearly struggle to understand that yes, people discuss things on the internet....you know, like you do here. Again, when you're on the receiving end of all the blessings then everyone else must be wrong.
Smh
I'm quite aware that people discuss things on the Internet, but just because people talk about anything anywhere doesn't give it merit. Holy ****
People said the nba rigged the nba draft so the Knicks could land Ewing, and? How titles did they win, same as the Caps
Refs had their Pens t-shirts on under the stripes as usual.

The thing is, the Pens are a great team and were then too so people take issue with them also getting the calls because it makes beating them THAT much harder. They don't need the help, but they get it anyway. The Pens have also historically gotten away with cheap shots and stick work that other teams players get suspensions for. It's not a new thing. The Pens get the benefit of the doubt from the refs and the league more often than not and it's frustrating as hell when you're in a division with them.
What do the Caps have to do with this? You keep bring them up. The simple point is that most objective fans can see the favoritism the Pens are shown. As a Pens fan I wouldn't expect you to see anything other than "nuh uh". Do I believe the NHL rigged the draft for Crosby to land in Pitt? Yes. Do I have proof? No. Will it ever come out? No. I just look at the events that were happening with Morio's threats to move to team and then all of a sudden the saviour lands there just in time. The NHL has other favorites as well, but the Pens are chief among them. You don't have to see it and you can say that just because people discuss it, it doesn't make it true, but just because you don't doesn't mean it's not.
So in summation:
I suppose that's the new thing.
When you can't beat your opponent...
Accuse them of collusion and/or the system being rigged.
